Even if she was a protector? And what are the odds that she'd get chosen as a slayer and a sacrifice? I just think in the specific case of Ampata the Incan mummy, it's extremely unlikely she was a slayer. Just my opinion. Read "Righteous" in the Tales of the Slayer graphic novel. It's canon, and yes, a Slayer is "sacrificed" on the charge of witchcraft or something along those lines, after saving a village/town. Actually, it was more of a lynching than anything else. But protectors aren't always viewed as being good. S8 is kinda headed into that territory right now. And there are tons of people who hate on their government (though, not always uncalled for...). But no, I don't buy that Ampata was a Slayer at all. The similarities noted were merely dramatic devices, allowing Ampata to serve as a dramatic foil for Buffy, and the choices she makes, and possibly what and how she feels being chosen, instead of being allowed to choose. |

Lol sorry in my Research Methods practical.. it's all about the stats, probability, skew/kurtosis, heterscedasticity/homoscedasticity, pearsons correlations & spearman rank order... funfun!
I understand that it is not IMPOSSIBLE but I don't believe it is LIKELY.
And I agree completely that Ampata was a device for exploration and reflection of Buffy's inner-dialogue.
I don't think she needs to be any more than that.

Yeah, i can't believe this thread is still going. I mean admittedly, I've only been around this site for about 3 weeks, but this topic is the thread dominating Buffy-chat.
Answer: it seems pretty damn unlikely, but who knows? Go nuts.

i've thought of the idea when watching Buffy, but i still think there's not really enough info to say she is a slayer
she could of been anything
maybe something we don't even know about in the Buffyverse
