FOX to air all of Season 1 of Dollhouse

I just found this information out on www.dollverse.com that ALL of the First Season of Dollhouse is to air. It doesn't say anything about a second season just yet, just that all 13 episodes will definitely air, which is awesome! It also says that some of the episodes may be pre-empted by Prison Break, such as the finale, but I hope that they would just reschedule it. Anyways, check it out!

This was confirmed even before the show started. FOX just didn't want to pull a "Firefly" so this really isn't good news at all since it was before they saw the ratings.

Nope, season 1 is only 13 eps long. The same deal with Firefly. I think the same would have happened with the first season of T: SCC had it not been for the writers' strike.

That's a really short season and not very much time for Dollhouse to find it's place/hit it's stride/fully-develop.

Firefly was at it's peak when it went off air! I hope Dollhouse isn't left hanging if (god-forbid) season 2 isn't on the menu!

I think you're most likely referring to the mysterious 14th episode, the one that takes place post-apocalypse with a different cast. There's also another episode, the pilot, which was never shown, which has been poached a lot for filler for the other eps, so obviously that won't be shown (the suits wanted to show it, but suits aren't very bright, so Joss had to explain why it can't be shown). That leaves them with 12 episodes out of a contracted 13, which makes the 14th episode #13.

The 12th episode, "Omega", is the season finale and it will air. The 14th episode, "Epitaph One" is now the 13th episode, which Joss would like Fox to air but they're undecided on/not choosing to air. They'll probably stick "Epitaph One" on the DVD set, though, since the DVD set has to have 13 episodes as part of the contract.

Once again, leave it to Fox to fux things up beyond recognition. This is what happens when you let MBA's make creative decisions. Network suits are about as smart as a box of hair when it comes to this stuff.

I think Felicia Day had a part in that one, too.

Actress Felicia Day said on her Twitter micro-blog that the "Dollhouse" episode in which she makes a guest appearance, "Epitaph One," won't air on Fox. The Dr. Horrible Twitter, which is a Whedon family project, confirmed the news.

That led to speculation that the show has been canceled, which is not the case. Actually, I'm glad I wasn't on Twitter when this story blew up -- by late this afternoon, several capable TV writers had sorted out the situation.

And the situation is this: Fox ordered 13 episodes of "Dollhouse." It considers the pilot that was shot but scrapped to be one of those episodes. So as far as Fox is concerned, it is obliged to air 12 more episodes of "Dollhouse." That run of 12 episodes ends on May 8, when an episode titled "Omega" airs (there's more on upcoming episodes of "Dollhouse" here).

The studio that makes "Dollhouse" chose to make one additional episode, "Epitaph One," so that it can sell a 13-episode DVD set. Fox apparently will not air that episode, which is a standalone episode that does not resolve issues raised in "Omega."
