I've read the most recent book, I think and I must say I prefer the show. The book characters are way to shallow.
Not to say that show version aren't but at least I feel emotions and a sense REAL people. Yes, insanely rich and good looking people but emotions are there and not EVERYONE is so selfish.
Serena seems like an idiot in the books.
