I didn't really like the end that much either. I still don't understand how those two people found him when there was absolutely no way to get in or out of NYC.

I didn't really like the movie. I was really looking forward to it but meh it just didn't sit right with me. The CGI was crappy. SO that didn't help and there could have been more of a fight. Plus he could have saved himself he could have just threw the bomb as he got into the hole thing. And i think they should have just left it at them getting out of the hole with the blood still in her hand.

10/10. I loved the edning actually...it was very hopeful and inspiring. The little boy kind of annoyed me though. The fact he didn't talk bothered me because obviously if he would have spoken he would have been paid bigger bucks...Hollywood. Meh. The movie was very emotional and funny and sad and scary...one of the best movies I've ever seen. The friend I brought with me cried when he had to kill Sam. She also cried during the flashback when the infected woman was screaming at Robert to "take her baby." I got teary eyed during that, too. I also jumped a lot, which surprised me. I thought I'd be able to handle it coming from a Buffy background but it was still very frightening...I went to sleep with a stake last night for fear of darkseekers. Lmao! All in all...it was a very good movie and I'll be buying it on DVD.

Sam was easily the coolest character. For a dog she made a huge impact. Very depressing.

I am not a fan of this movie... at least not of the entire movie! I LOVED the first half but it was all down hill after Sam dies...and, in my opinion, it didn't just go down hill.... it went down the hill, off the cliff, and hit a rocky bottom! I HATED the film from the half way point onward! It got so far fetched and the ending was, agian...in my opining, about as lame as it could have possibly been! If someone would have said to me at the half way point "How would you ruin this amazing movie", I am pretty sure I would have described the second half of the movie and then laughed and thought that there was no way the creators of this amazing movie would sabotage their own movie! Ugg.... The zombies.... They looked like they were in a 1980's arcade game! The alpha-male was seriously a joke! I think that the only reason I hated this movie soooo much is because I had suck high expectations for it and I really LOVED the first half of the movie. The effects in the beginning were so amazing and Will smith definitely gave the best performance of his career in the first half of the movie. I just really hated the zombies and the Hollywood second half and the weird religious ending! In case you missed something... I HATE THIS MOVIE! LOL I am not hating on anyone who likes this movie. Don't take it the wrong way. I was just really let sown by this movie!

I liked it and I cried for Sam. A lot of people went expecting a horror movie and that was it. It went deeper than that. It was the psychological impact. He was the last man in New York....except for other people that were so severely infected they were no longer people....I mean can you guys really imagine being in that situation. And then losing Sam?? OMG. I thought it was cheesy and weird that the woman and kid found him. But at least they made Will act a little off when he was around them...kinda crazy and scared. He was alone for so long, that all socialization, etc. would have been lost, or at least very very rusty. They played that out well. I haven't read the book, though I want to. And the 'zombie' things were not meant to look funny or scary or weird. It was sup. to be a biological disaster. They needed to look like they at one point were human. I thought it was fantastic. Took my 13 year old cousin and he loved it. I say 8/10 and that's good. I am very critical when it comes to movies.

In the book...
BOOK SPOILER
.. I Am Legend is a tragic term, because Neville has become a monster in the eyes of the mutants. Some of the creatures retain their human qualities, but look the same. While he's out killing them he obviously doesn't distinguish the differences. It's the ironic idea in the book that Neville is the freak, and a monster to the vampires. He befriends one and learns about how he is perceived before he is captured. He kills himself to escape torture.
END SPOILER
The film ditches a lot of these interesting ideas in favour of a mindless hero story. Shame.

Nice summary of the books themes Henz!
The origional movie (before omega Man) follows the book story exactly. It stars Vincent Price and is far superior to the new movie...imho.

I enjoyed the movie but felt let-down by the ending. I felt like there was all this build-up and then it just ended. Now I want to see the original with Vincent Price!

I forgot to mention that the origional is called Last Man on Earth. It can easily be found in those sets of OLD horror movies that are like $6.99 for 5 movies! I would try deepdiscount.com www.imdb.com/title/tt0058700/

I've not seen either the original or the Omega Man but I did know about them. It's just disappointing to me about I Am Legend because I honestly thought the first half was perfect. As soon as they left the book behind it went downhill. I didn't hate the rest, but it seems much worse up against the start.

I actually liked the ending (funky and superfluous religious dealy not withstanding) but this ending sounds much more interesting.
