I thought it was a pretty decent episode, it could've had a little more than 2 of the main characters in it though. I think Desmond's time slips are quite interesting like the episode in the 3rd season where he's in an alternate reality. Finally actual contact off the island! What did everyone else think?

Well I thought this episode was absolutely stunning and brilliant, one of my favorites throughout all the seasons.
Desmond has always been one of my favorite characters (I'd place him just behind Jack as my favorite). I've been a fan of his ever since he first appeared, as I just thought his character was brilliantly designed and so well acted by Henry Ian Cusick. When his flashbacks first started I thought he was just going to start doing the weird time-jumping-flashback thing that he did last season, but it became so much more than that.
I thought what followed was just so well done and constructed, I was captivated from beginning to end. It was also great that Jeffrey Davies got more screen time this episode as well. I think he is the single greatest cast addition since Desmond in Season 2 (yeah, better than Ben).
This time travel stuff is just fantastic and has taken the show into such an awesome direction that I had no idea it was heading for.
Just a fantastic episode all around, and that scene at the end where Desmond made the phone call to Penny was so suspenseful! I had a feeling the writers were going to be evil and not have her pick up and then just have Desmond's brain go all gooey, but I was so relieved when she did. Really awesome stuff.
And I'm home for spring break so I got to watch in HD which just made it that much more awesome. This show looks so great in HD (especially that shot at the end with Faraday on the beach with the sunset in the background, just incredible).
Okay I'm done raving. I hope you all liked it as much as I did so that I don't look like too big of a looney toon.

That was one bloody brilliant episode! We got some vague answers, albeit confuzzling and sciency ones. And Faraday and Desmond got a tonne of screentime, which is brilliant, as those are two amazing characters JJ Abrahms has cooked up there. And the Penny/Desmond phonecall!!! I actually sat there and cried! I hope Desmond is one of our oceanic 6, cos I sooo badly want to see a reunion between those two!

I don't think Desmond can be one of the Oceanic 6 since he wasn't on the plane. But that doesn't mean that he doesn't get off the island.

First great episode of the season in my opinion. You really think so? I've adored every single episode of this season! I just especially adored the last one!

I like 1 & 3. 2 was okay. 4 was annoying (kate) This was the first really satisfying episode for me this season; despite the many plot holes in that time travel story.
