Kara (aka Super-Girl) goes in search for a little boy Kal-El after quickly getting rid of Clark and Lois after they discover her ship. When Clark finds Kara and learns that she is his cousin, he has to explain to her that Krypton was destroyed years ago. Kara's ship had fallen into the dam that Lex's failed (its failed, right?) project was taking place in. Once all of the water was gone from the dam, Kara was free to leave the ship.
There's a new editor at the Daily Planet, and he likes Lois' work. But he isn't satisfied with Chloe's? Lois goes after a story that the editor says will get her a job at the Planet and she loses it (the story). She has no evidence to prove she actually saw Kara's ship. Even so, she gets a job, her desk right next to Chloe's.
Lex's lawyer gets him out of jail for the murder of Lana Luthor... and Lex doesn't think she's dead. He believes she used the non-living double of herself* to make it look like she was in her vehicle when it exploded, when she was actually completely safe.
* - see the Season 7 premiere
His team (of security or search crew, spies?) finds activity by Lana in China. Lex goes to China and confronts her... when she puts a gun to him. He begs for her to shoot, begs (!), and she doesn't. He let's her know that he really did love her, and he will give her anything she needs and she can move back to Smallville and live how she wants to without his interference.
Exactly how hard will it be for Kara to adjust to the changes in her environment?
Could Lois' knack for journalism get Chloe fired?
Is Lex really finished with Lana, or was that just an act?
All three of these questions should be answered by the end of the season, which may also be the end of the show.
