Last summer BBCAmerica aired the hugely successful UK series Life on Mars; FWIW, this series had been hugely hyped to me by more than a few people I know. I watched it and was HUGELy dissappointed. IMO, it just was a UK cop show, and if I want to watch UK police procedurals I'll watch Prime Suspect or Inspector Morse, FWIW those two series are much, much better than LoM.
OTOH, fewer people had told me about the new Robin Hood. It's first season is now showing on BBCAamerica, and it's turning out to be very delightful a real joy to watch. Good smart writing, a nice bit of action (swordplay and people shooting arrows at each other), good acting. It might be said this new version of Robert Locksley's story has the same relationship to all the old Robin Hood stories that BSG on SciFi has to Battlstar Galatica(1978).

Buffyfanone, I think you'll be surprised and entertained by Robin Hood, it's not Robin and Marion, a movie from the 1970s, nor Men in Tights, a TV series from the 1970s. It's different, and IMO very good. FWIW, IMO they make up Lucy Griffiths (Marion) beautifully for the series.
Die4angel, sorry Life on Mars just did not do anything for me, and I'd been lead to it with such high expectations, which to me were unfulfilled. And you must know John Sims, who plays lead character Sam Tyler, is due to be guest star in another very popular UK series.
