Do we know Caroline's last name? I wouldn't be surprised if it was Dewitt. There seems to be some kind of bond between the two of them that I can't really put my finger on, and I know it's kind of an out there theory but the way that Dewitt looked at Echo at the end of man on the street makes me really think there's something else going on there. ANy thoughts?

Caroline's last name was mentioned by her old professor in Ep 7. It's Farrell.

Well, I get the RepressiveMother/RebelliousDaughter™ vibe from them as well.
Not sure if it's possible though. On Echoes, we discovered that the DeWitt had been chasing Caroline for almost two years, so that sort of explains the "intimacy". But still, that doesn't explain why she ran away from the hospital after hearing DeWitt's voice (or am I choosing to believe this is what happened?)
Anyway, Adelle could be the stepmother witch...
But I don't know anymore... I'm prepared to be surprised (as long as it doesn't involve big scary voice altering black masks saying "Echo, I am your... mother", I'm cool with it).

Adelle is apparently supposed to have an awesome character twist and this is one of the reasons that the actress signed on to play the role. I wouldn't be surprised. It's very possible that there is some sort of bond between the two.

I keep thinking that Adelle is Caroline's aunt or something. Adelle seems unusually close to her, as if there's some sort of bond, although mother-daughter might be a little soapy.

I think a family connection between Adelle & Caroline/Echo would be a very interesting twist. I agree that them being mother & daughter might be a little too out there who knows.
At the very least I hope there is a deeper connection. Adelle has been shown to be more invested (for lack of a better word) in Echo then the other actives and it'd be nice to see new layers in that relationship revealed.
