In Act Three I believe, Tara is told she can leave. Before actually exiting the magic box she points at Giles and says "Killer!" but I don't know why. Does anyone have an answer and if not any theories as to why she said that?

Um.... maybe because of his 'Ripper' days with that cult? or could maybe she could see what he would do to Ben to stop Glory???

I always took it as Tara A. seeing Giles kill Ben OR B. wanting to kill Dawn for the world
Your Choice. I'd like it to be A but it doesn't make much sense

Also, for the audience, it's dramatic foreshadowing. We just heard Giles suggest killing Dawn. With that line, we expect him to kill someone. For it to have been Ben was largely unexpected on my part.

It could be all of the above.
Maybe Tara saw that Giles had killed, was ready to kill, saw himself as a killer or maybe even that he would kill Ben(maybe she got the physic kind of crazy).

I've just always seen it as something relating to the forthcoming killing of Ben. Obviously it was put in there for dramatic foreshadowing, as Wenxina said. Fans like us can go back and watch the Gift and appreciate it for what it is showing us.

Interesting, that they tried to make the audience think that he'd kill Dawn. I wonder if Buffy would've been able to stop him, if Glory had gotten her distracted for long enough.

I have always associated it more with Ben's killing - it seems quite common in the Buffyverse for someone who can't see everything that a normal person can able to see something that everyone else can't. Hence you get the crazy people throughout S5 being able to see Dawn's real form, the blind assassin in Angel S1_21 with second sight etc. It seems quite a common theme throughout fantasy in general: you lose one thing and gain something else...

I would say probably because she realized that Giles was going to kill Ben. She clearly was able to see things that no one else could so I wouldnt doubt it.

I think Joss added it to make us think a bit. I believe was to be any of the above ideas.
