Ok heres the idea All of us who have YouTube accounts make a video about Dollhouse (it could be anything like telling you 10 reasons to watch or just a simple showing of the 1x10 trailer and then adding at the end "SAVE DOLLHOUSE AND WATCH FRI @ 9PM" something like that"). We ALL don't have to make a video if you don't want but if you have a Youtuber downloader just rip the video saving dollhouse and upload it and hopefully it will spread and spread generating possibley more views If ANY of you have ideas please post them here.

i don't mean to be pessimistic, but at this point, it's pointless. dollhouse has a 50%/50% chance of getting a second season though it is leaning in the way of cancellation... at this point, we just have to leave it up to God, fate, hecate, buddha, moses, or whoever/whatever you believe in...

Yeah and 50/50? to me it looks like 25% chance of a renewing. MAN this is ALL FOX's fault IMO this would of probably never happend if it was marketed right and given a good timeslot.

i agree with the timeslot part, but they did do a pretty good job with advertising it and getting the word out though... they definitely did a much better job than they did with firefly.

I think antoniofjm has an excellent idea and tha tit's well worth trying. I only wish I had any ideas that good.... Best wishes, Scott

i'm only saying at this point, it's out of our control... if this idea had come up 2 months ago, yeah maybe it would've helped, but now with four three episodes left, it's in FOX's hands now... we just have to be sure to tune in.

Definitely. I'm gonna tune in and just incessantly watch Dollhouse on FOX.com (or at least play it while I'm doing something else). We just have to try.

Honestly, I don't blame the timeslot. It was advertised very well, and viewers tuned in for the first few episodes... the ones that really stunk, the ones that were re-written from scraps of the original pilot to appease the FOX producers. That huge move to scrap the pilot and make the first few eps more "episodic" is what didn't grab viewers. By the time good episodes came along with Man on the Street, there wasn't enough of a base and FOX basically stopped advertising. At least it seems to me that advertising for Dollhouse slumped after they pushed MotS. There are less reviews found about Dollhouse's latter episodes, web chatter has been mostly consumed with ratings and impending demise.
It was mishandled by FOX but the writing has really hit its stride. I hope that either FOX renews and hands the reigns to Whedon or it is licensed to another network. It could be a successful franchise with the proper management.
Anyways, back to saving Dollhouse, ha.
At this point, pre-ordering the DVDs, buying episodes on iTunes, and continuing to watch on FOX.com (not Hulu) will hopefully show that a base is alive. Write reviews on LiveJournal, post on Twitter and Facebook feeds, talk to your friends about it and try to get them hooked. I like the idea of a video going viral, but at this point it would have to be more than "10 reason why I want a second season of Dollhouse." I'm talking Obama Girl viral. Maybe also a petition? I'm sure there is already one, or a thousand. Search those out and sign them. Send actual letters to FOX, through the mail. Emails are easy to scan, physical letters show the mass of voices who want it renewed.
Thankfully Dollhouse doesn't cost much to produce (in comparison to other shows). If by speaking out and using our resources as a fanbase we raise the value of the Dollhouse franchise, someone will produce a second season, even if it isn't FOX.

Personally, I have a problem with how they rate the shows - Neilson has to beso out-dated. The young fans - the demographic group they are targeting are out on Friday night - but as you folks show me - you get it online after - you record it - watch it over and over - how does Neilson capture any of that.
I think their technology is so out of date that they don't have a good connection with reality.
Well, that's my opinion - not to mention that they don't count Canada in the viewership, either!!!
Sulking in a corner now....

Ratings aren't really used to see who watches the show, they are used to see who watches the advertisements. DVRs and TiVO imo shouldn't be counted for ratings. Watching the advertisements pay for the shows you love.
But you're right sagewoman, I question Nielsen ratings in particular because their method seems to encompass too small of a sample size to extrapolate a nation's viewership rating.
However, I am given hope by network online streaming video sites like FOX.com where the network gets ad money in addition to raw numbers of views. Raw numbers, at least to me, should be more valuable than the Nielsen. Nielsen deals with statistics, guesses. Advertisers want reliable numbers for views, and I think the paradigm will eventually shift to online viewings to pay for TV shows.
Another note: Unfortunately, advertisers only care about reaching demographics within their specific country. Corporations are usually contained in or divided between countries. They purposefully try to maintain accurate numbers for their specific country, which is one reason why online streaming video sites don't allow access to non-US IP addresses. (The other is international licensing rights red tape, which Hulu is trying to work through).

IMO the way they made DH seemin the promotion was way off espicially showing ELIZA almost nude in almost all the promos. The only promo I liked for the series was the 3 min teaser we got in 2008 and the 1 min promo with that song which I still don't know the name of with lyrics "If you could ake a dream and make it real..."

Now, if that doesn't save Dollhouse, I don't know what will:

LOL That may be the most brilliant idea yet. Here's hoping that video gets 19 million viewers like her other one did.

Here's hoping that video gets 19 million viewers like her other one did. Unfortunately, it's far, far away from that. There's a new one up, though. Hopefully, it will draw more attention. My sister asked if Joss was paying me anything and I answered that having Joss on TV for another season is enough of a payment.

At this point, I'd do *anything* to save DH, even if it is pointless or unlikely to be continued. I just about cried when I saw some article saying it wasn't likely to last. There's so man unanswered questions- this would be worse than how Angel left off (although fantastically scripted, there were some loose threads). I am curious- do ITUNES buys affect whether or not the show is continued? I admit I don't understand these sort of things very well. I never watch real TV, so I tend to buy Dollhouse on Itunes. Hate to think I might be contributing to its cancellation. heck, I'll set my DVR to record it at least...
