Through out the final episode of season one, Omega, something bothered me. Here are two examples of what I will talk about.
ALPHA(TO ECHO) : Honey, meet yourself.
Now, he says this to the imprint in Echo's(Caroline's) body, Crystal. CAROLINE IS NOT CRYSTAL. Sure, they have used the same body, but this is a completely different human being. A body is just a shell.
TOPHER(TO CLAIRE) : Don't you wanna know who you were?
Once again, the imprint in Whiskey's body is CLAIRE. The original owner of the body is gone. Claire is not the first owner. They are two completely different people! They have only shared the same body, like I stated before. And this reason is why I love Claire's response: "I know who I am."
What are your thoughts?

I think that both Echo and Alpha show that their respective dolls were not empty shells. Rather, their underlying predispositions seeped into their personalities while on engagement and in doll state. Both after composite acted on their predisposition, not as dictated by their many, many personalities.
I formulate in my head the 'predispositions' of each doll are the genetic and neural patterns of each doll body. Certain memories seem to still be intact, only suppressed (Echoes), and guttural needs of the doll may sometimes surface (Needs).
In both cases, the lines are directed to the bodies, the dolls. Alpha wants Echo to meet her "self"... her original personality. Crystal hasn't a clue, but Echo remembers everything after her composite event, exactly as Alpha knew she would. Topher is speaking to Claire, after she comes to the realization that she is Whiskey as well. He is speaking to her as a doll, as Whiskey, whether she would want to know who she was.
Interestingly, I keep thinking of "original personalities" as the bodies' corresponding souls. Echo's conversation with Caroline later confirmed that belief. What makes it interesting is Whiskey/Claire's disinterest in knowing who her "soul" was. Has Claire taken root as Whiskey's new soul? Is her original soul lost? Fascinating!

I believe Claire was just saying she knew who 'she' was. Idk. Your post made me think of a lot more opinions. lol

Precisely, VampSlayer! If Claire (as a soul) laid claim to Whiskey, why would she have any interest in the original soul? She would know who she was I dunno, it's just a theory. I'd like to read some metanalysis on Dollhouse, I'm not good at it.

Maybe she just knows who 'she' is, like Claire. Maybe she doesnt want to be bothered with it. But the question that I want answered, is what will Claire do when Wkiskey's five year contract is up?

I'd like to know that as well. We'll have to wait and see.
