other than it's clear that Sarah's stunt double looks nothing like her...
so before i rant, i want to let y'all know, maybe this is just me, i have done karate for 12 years, but i noticed that when the Turok-Han and Buffy are fighting, the individual blows seemed to be fast, but they were wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy to spread out and (to me at least) seemed REALLY coreographed...
like Buffy would elbow the Turok and a second or so would elapse and the Turok would punch Buffy... Kick. kick. punch. punch. strangle. stab. kick. behead.
again, the punches and kicks were delivered quickly, it just seemed way too staged. 'tis just something i noticed... anyone else find this weird?

I can't remember this scene particulary, but I bet I would agree with you if I re-watched it.
Not always, but more often than I'd like, the fighting looks fake. Too many openings, the vamps wait for their turn to attack Buffy, the blows are more for show than truly violent.
Sometimes the fight scenes are excellent, and sometimes I roll my eyes.

agreed... some like Glory and Buffy's fight in... i don't remember which episode but Buffy kicked a curved couch into Glory's face are clearly staged, but done really well... and others like...
OH MY GOD REMEMBER IN EARSHOT!!!!! THE LUNCHLADY'S STUNT DOUBLE WAS LIKE 50 LBS LESS AND WAS CLEARLY A GUY!!!?!?!?!

another Glory one:
when they're in the hospital, adn Buffy goes to kick her and Glory grabs her foot says "those are really nice shoes' (great, line, though) and then flips her. Buffy SPINS ALL THE WAY AROUND AND KICKS HER IN THE FACE BEFORE LANDING! i hated that so much!
But my FAVORITE move Buffy ever did was in Buffy vs Drac when she runs and the vamp and jumps and then she puts her legs around his neck adn flips backwards. that was freakin' sweet!

Most of the fight scenes on the show were great, but obviously it IS a television show that strives on kick ass martial arts fights. The ones that seemed really staged were the end fight in Showtime, yes, and some of the Buffy vs. Glory fights. Im not a fan of the Buffy spinning and kicking her either, but like said is a show. However, I do really love the quick fight scene between her and Glory in Tough Love. Because it works for how weakened Glory is that Buffy would be able to get in all those shots.
