I don't think it would be quite as clear-cut as in The Wish, where clearly Willow and Xander would be taken completely by surprise by the existence of vamps and would get turned that first night. By the end of Season 1, they are totally in the game. I think you'd be more likely to get a situation where Giles, Xander and Willow would be white-hats for a short time, before teaming up with the future Slayers as and when they arrived. Yeah but seeing the situation they were in at the end of Season 1 i think the master would have dealt with them directly after killing buffy

I mean, not to play down the abilities of the two of them at the time, but they wouldn't have stood a chance against the vamps at that time. Give Willow a couple of years, and she would've obliterated anything that they threw at her. But at the time, they both desperately needed Buffy to protect them so they would've become vampy food. It just would've been bad news for everyone living in Sunny-D at the time.

Bad news yes, But I reckon they might be able to escape with their lives by this point, with Giles' help. Maybe retreat, regroup, start a resistance?

Angel would have slain The Master. Kendra would have been the Slayer but then would have been killed. Faith would have defeated the Mayor and Dawn would be HER sister. Hank and Joyce would get over their grief for Buffy by adopting the Lehane sisters as their new daughters. Faith would save Joyce by returning home slightly earlier in season 5 and Joyce would save Tara by pushing her out of the way of Warren's bullet in season 6. Everything else would work out just like Chosen/Not Fade Away

1) Most likely: Master lives, every his enemy is dead, dust or turned. Hellmouth opens. Hell raises. That's all folks, end of the story, thanks for watching and see you next time.... no wait, there is no next time anymore, so see you in Hell! lol 2) Could be Season 1 Angel kills Master (I strongly doubt, but why not?) He sad and wants to leave Sunnydale. Scoobies tell him to stay and fight in the memory of Buffy. He agried. Season 2 Kendra arrives. She and Angel work together but of course have no sex and no Angelus. Scoobies work with the champions. Kendra died because Buffy was distracted by Angelus (and hypnotized by Dru... well, nevermind) So: 1)Kendra survives, Dru and Spike are either dead or run away. No any Acathla because Spike isn't as mad as Angelus. 2) Kendra dies, Angel wins, hello Faith. 3) Kendra dies, Angel is dust, hello Faith. Season 3 Angel and Kendra\ Angel and Faith\ Faith alone (with Scoobies )fight with evil. Deputy Mayor Allan Finch won't be killed. Instead he will reveal Mayor's plan. Mayor is defeated. Season 4. The Slayer (Faith or Kendra - it's your choice) will go to college. Or may be she wouldn't. However somehow she will encount The Initiative. Can't tell anything about Slayer/ Raily reletionship.... Adam is down. Season 5. Dawn still will be Slayer's sister. Will Kendra or Faith die to save the world, or won't, I don't know. It's hard to say anything about Seasons 6 and 7. Too many possible options. Angel can leave or may die . Faith can die and unknown Slayer appears. I wish someone write fanfic about what happens if Buffy is dead, and Master defeated.

Well, I don't think the Master would have taken over the world and killed everyone if Buffy hadn't been revived in "Prophecy Girl." More likely, things would resemble the way they were in the Wishverse, with the vamps ruling Sunnydale, but the rest of the world still free.
If Buffy hadn't been brought back to life after "The Gift," the situation gets weirder. Her death then doesn't result in the calling of another slayer; after "Prophecy Girl," Buffy basically became a dead end in the slayer line of succession. So there would effectively be no slayer, with Buffy dead and Faith locked up.
So then, what would the Watchers' Council do? Would they spring Faith from prison on the grounds that she appeared repentant and willing to fight on their side? Or -- a darker possibility -- would they arrange to have Faith killed so that another slayer could be called?

I think the Scoobs never told the council Buffy was dead for just that reason. I think Faith would have got free and closed the Hellmouth eventually, our girl will always come good. The same with Master dominated Sunnydale

There is a "What if?" section of an issue of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel magazine. When i can be bothered I will type up what they thought. There is a section specifically for what buffy stayed dead? There's also one for what if Joyce never died?

I thought the hell mouth would open and all the hell lashing out on earth and destroy everything in thier path. So basically hell destroy earth. And bring the demons back like the older days ( old ones).

But heroes would rise (and WR&H?) and humanity would triumph, TV, fire and opposable thumbs, the astronauts would defeat the cavemen

If Buffy had Stayed dead after S1, I think the world would have been very similar to what we saw in The Wish - vamps, demons overrunning the town, etc.

I think that Angel would of left town to do Angel. but Wesley and Cordy wouldn't be in it. Kendra would be called and maybe die. Faith would then be called but i don't think she'd turn evil.

We may still have had a Dawn, but one made out of Faith! Imagine the whiny little sister being told to shut the hell up by a brassed-off Faith! Hah! I wanna see it! i wonder....woul dFaith have died for Dawn though? as awesome as she was, Faith was more selfish than Buffy. She risked her life for Angel in "Orpheus". When she cares, Faith can be selfless

If anything I suspect that Faith would have been even MORE willing to sacrifice herself for Dawn than Buffy was. The monks sent Dawn to Buffy as a little sister as they knew that was the most precious thing on earth, that everyone would fall over themselves to protect this sweet little girl.
For Faith whose mother is dead and never knew her father Dawn would be the only family she ever had and the light of her life. She wouldn't hesitate for a moment to sacrifice herself for the sister she loved.
