I recently got a new computer (Apple MacBook Pro), and am finally able to make videos again. I haven't made any since High School, so I am very excited! My old laptop never had enough power or hard drive space to make good enough videos, but my new computer has more than enough power and space. This is my first try at fan videos as well, and I plan on making many more! So I present: Angel: Before the FallNot Fade Away TributeMusic: "Take a Bow" by Muse "Ntr/Mission" by Linkin Park Let me know what you think! I am accepting any and all criticism, no matter how harsh it is. I want to improve these videos and make them better, so please be honest! Thanks!

That was so good! Music fit the feeling and the tone perfectly. That one part where Angel and Wes locked eyes and then the ariel view of LA kicked in with the music was epic. The only criticism I have is the part when Angel signs away the Shanshu because of the bits with the characters talking. But other than that, this was, again, epic. Great job!

Yeah the scene where Angel signs the Shanshu away is the only part I wasn't 100% happy with, as whenever I broke it up to cut it down, the transitions just made the scene look weird. I'm going to keep tweaking with it though. Thanks for watching it!

I enjoyed it! I'm not a fan of the song used, but it fit the scenes.

My favorite parts were when the action picked up and it kept resonating with the lines "burn in hell". That progression was really great.
I laughed at your dedication of Special thanks to My MacBook. LOL. That was so cute.
I'll have to watch it again before giving you some concrit. I feel like maybe the song was a bit long for the entire piece, that maybe there might have been some benefit to cutting pieces and trying to make it tighter. But that's just a vague impression. Great job!

Great job! Thanks for watching! As for the length, I struggled with that all day lol. I really wanted to use the song by Muse, and so that pretty much locked me in to the 5 minute mark. There are a ton of other songs that I wanted to use as well, so maybe I will make a Director's Cut version later on that uses a different song that allows me to tighten a few of the sequences.

Is there maybe a way to cut the song in parts? Yeah it is possible. I haven't played around with music editing in years though, so I wuld probably screw it up. I am going to download my more sophisticated movie editing software today (Final Cut Pro), so I will play around with that. Great video, love the song choice - some of the lyrics were very fitting and yay, Muse Good job, looking forward to seeing more videos. Thanks for watching and I am glad you enjoyed it!

Nice. What other videos have you edited?
If this is your first time making a musicvideo(not only fanvideos) I say bravo.
But I agree with the critic already mentioned, characters-talking-scenes=bad. Sometimes it's hard to avoid tough.

Sometimes it's hard to avoid tough. The "11th Film by" part stems from something I did in High School. I was in a video editing class for a yeah and every time I made a video I added "Presenting....The (Number here) Film....by James Sexton" to the beginning, so I wanted to continue that with any new videos I make. And yep, this was my first fan video (not really first music video, as I did one for my Top 5 Favorite Movies in High School), so thanks for the compliment! I am going to tinker with a few talky parts.

Well, Vimeo took down my video. So I need to find another site to host my video(s) at. Any ideas? YouTube is out as that site is just horrible now with uploading "copyrighted" content. Bleghers.

DailyMotion's a good bet. There's a couple of users there who've had Angel Season Five episodes available online in parts there for a couple of years now, without having been taken down. I'm sure they have a copyright policy but it appears to be much looser than Vimeo or Youtube. Although, my favorite Angel fanvids haven't been removed from Youtube yet. *shrug*
