This isn't really a thread about season arcs, or episode speculations, but let's say the whole "wish" episode happened and Buffy wished that Dawn never existed...or someone else did...doesn't matter. What would happen in this alternate dimension.
I'm guessing this, but tell me your own ideas.
-Joyce is still alive.
because the new memories got mixed with her older ones and
formed a brain tuma.
-Buffy & Riley stayed together.
they're relationship was ruined because of what was happenin
with Joyce, coz of Dawn. Buffy needed to give all her attention
to her mother, and daugther, pushing Riley away.
-Buffy & Spike never slept together
because Buffy was drawn to Spike because, well she did die
which caused the whole "I want to feel"....but she had
suppressed feelings of her mother being dead. Not being able
to have anyone to speak to.
So what's you're theories.

If Dawn never existed...
Spike would have never been seen as anything more than a monster by Buffy. Or at least he'd have to find another way to show he was changing.

Xander would have never ogled an underage teenager in the Bronze when he was 22 years old. Perv.  ...he'd save all that for later fantasies when the Potentials arrive and many are also underaged. ;D |

Perv. ...he'd save all that for later fantasies when the Potentials arrive and many are also underaged. ;D Ah, but if there had been no Dawn, Buffy wouldn't have died, there would have been no resurrection and the balance in the Slayer line wouldn't have shifted I disagree with this, I think their relationship would have broken down anyway. You see it starting to fall apart right at the beginning of season 5, where Riley feels that he's an inadequate partner to Buffy because he's losing his enhanced strength. I think that the time Buffy devoted to Joyce and Dawn played a part in pushing him away, but it was his insecurities and jealousies towards the Slayer-side of Buffy that led him to go to the vamp brothels and the break down of the relationship. Yeah, I agree with this. I don't think Buffy would have accepted him changing had he not withstood the torture from Glory in Intervention. Perhaps something else would have happened to change her perspective of him (and indeed, I've read plenty of fics where this happens) - but I think his protection of Dawn was a major catalyst to her trusting Spike in S5. |

If Dawn had never existed, then a lot of stores in Sunnydale wouldn't have been forced to increase prices to offset the losses from shoplifting.

If Dawn had never existed, Janice might have died without Giles arriving in time to save her in All the Way. Buffy might have shown up later to kill the vampires since she was already hunting them, but Janice would have probably been dead by then.

I just stopped by to say that Dawn is great. Her whinning is so funny lol Er no.... Lol. But I would have missed the Gnarl not paralsying her and Anya playing, but who would it have got instead? Not the Gnarl. Just Gnarl. |

Makes him a guy! ;D Besides, in the UK she was very legal and would probably have been dating a guy in his 20s by that point anyway so can't say he did anything wrong in my eyes.  Without Dawn it's very possible Xander and Anya may never have split. He only proposed due to impending Glory-style-apocalypse issues and so their relationship would have gone very differently, most likely. |

There'd be significantly less GET OUT GET OUT GET OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT. I wholeheartedly agree. There are a few things that would've changed on Buffy, but I believe that I could've accepted them. I never liked Dawn as a character and I feel like she was a sore on the cast(Not Michelle, but just the character). All Dawn did was whine and mess things up for Buffy. Buffy always had to go save her, and Buffy had to die to save her, which created my favorite scene ever, but it still worked some major iffy storylines IMO. I would've been happier sans Dawn. |

You know, without a sister to worry about while taking care of Joyce, Buffy might have more free time on her hands. More time to spend with Riley, who then might have stayed.
Anti-Riley/anti-Dawn people, think about that.
