Not really intrested in this, i think we deserve better then simple motion-comics. Dc is making tons of DC animated movies, i don't see why we couldn't get the same with Buffy. We've had a Superman,Batman,WW,GL,Superman/Batman,two JLU,ect movies.
With Buffy it could be a Buffy,Spike,Angel,Willow,Spike/Angel,Willow/Angel/Xander,Spike/Buffy, the whole team, ect movies. Sky's the limit. Motion-comics are just so bland, there is little to no chance that the leads will be voiced by the actor that portrayed them.

I would personally much rather have a canon motion comic instead of having not canon animated movies focusing on different characters in their own little arcs. Why would there be little to no chance that the leads would be voice by their actor? All but SMG voiced their character for the video game. Sure, they've all moved on but most have also expressed interest in returning for something. And how would there be a better chance of them voicing animated movies than motion comics? Lol Even if they don't get the original cast, there is still amazing sound-a-likes out there. Giselle Loren from the Buffy game sounds exactly like SMG.

Because motion-comics aren't big moneymaking projects. They are usually very cost-effective and used to promote bigger projects. Most of the cast is already involved in projects that pay a lot better then doing motion comics. Animated movies are much bigger projects then motion-comics, motion-comics are just simplified animated movies/series. Agreed, Giselle Loren is great but i think they will have to hire a sound-a-like for every lead character in motion comics.

I wish more people would show an interest in this. Personally, I think it has the potential to be pretty cool and I hope it ends up actually being produced. Forced question in an attempt to stir up interest in this thread and the project in general: Who are your dream voices for new characters? I'd love to see Jackie Earle Haley do Twilight's magically altered voice.

If Nicholas Brendon doesn't want to do it, why not his twin brother? Also, I would love Giselle Loren to do Buffy again, but only if she could capture Buffy's adult voice. The one she did in the video games was more of a season 1 Buffy. Besides that, I really wouldn't know who to pick.

Out of everyone I think Nicholas Brendon would be the one most likely to do it. I think in one of his audio blogs he talked about watching the four minute Buffy animated clip that leaked and said he missed Xander or something.

BHats0414 posted this on Whedonesque:
Just got the mag today and immediately flipped it open to search for this. From EW:
Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 8 Motion Comic While Joss Whedon's Dark Horse comic-book series 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' is about to end - the five-issue finale begins in September - a special animated series (i.e., motion comic) kicks off this week, giving life to the first 19 issues. (It's based on the comic book based on the live-action TV show based on the 1992 movie. Got that?) Anyway, fans can now watch Buffy really tussle with the forces of evil. The first episode debuts on iTunes July 19,2010 (Fox Home Entertainment); DVD out this Fall.
I didn't know they were doing so many issues, or that it was coming out on DVD. Something new for the collection! (Blu-Ray pleez...)

Wow. I just expected The Long Way Home.
Still very iffy on this whole thing. As stated many times, I can't get over having other people voice the characters when I can just read and imagine the actors, but maybe I'll give the first episode a go.

I'm just hoping for a good promo clip... if it sounds good, it's a "perhaps". Otherwise, it's a flat "pfft... NEXT!" Actually, regardless, I'll probably go with the latter. Not a fan of motion comics... the "Astonishing X-Men" ones were decent... but it all sounded and looked better when I was reading the books.

I'm looking forward to these -- motion comics are a little boring compared to reading actual comic books, but it'll be cool to be able to watch season 8, say, in a rewatch or something. I dunno. This might just be awesome.

Hmm. I'll echo what others have said in that an animated version would have been better. But any Buffy is good Buffy, so I'll be looking forward to checking it out.

Bah. Paper dolls.
Georges and the writers had better be getting paid for this.

Oh, wow. This is so awesome that they are FINALLY going ahead with this! I just hope it's going to be awesome and not an uber disappointment. Of course, any Buffy is better than no Buffy so I'm really excited! NEW BUFFY! YAY!!! ;D

Ewwwwww. Do not want. I say just throw in money for a full animation! Oh well. Others want the motion comic, so that's fine.
