Anyone else getting MASSIVELY annoyed by the current recession and the impossible task of finding a job? Im looking for a summer job as I go back for my final uni year in september so I havent got it as bad as some who are looking for a Full-time job to last them a while. But regardless, its hugely frustrating constantly handing out cvs, applying to places and getting a glimmer of hope and then losing it. Anyone else in the same position? Need to vent? I thought Id found an office assistant job that I was pretty much confirmed to have and then he suddenly rings me and is like oh yeh I accidently overstaffed so gave it to one of the other guys. Bastard. Was annoying seeing as in the interview he was like you are definitely top of my list. Grrr. I think I might go to London and live with my sister and have a search there. I did that last year and eventually found a job in a cinema. Its cool living in London but being so far away from all my friends after being away from them all year in uni sucks. So yeh, anyone else in the same position and would like vent then maybe I wouldnt feel so bad about being a layabout at home jobless if others are also suffering. haha.

I just graduated from college and finding a job has been pretty tough. At least I am getting interviews though, so there are definitely jobs out there to get (at least in my field anyway).

Yeah I've been hit by the recession too. My work (which refuses to pay for health insurance, sick days or vacation) bumped me down to part time. I've been looking for other work or a new job all together but I can't really find anything. I'm either not qualified enough or too over qualified or just up against too much competition. Something has to give eventually.

I graduated last year and landed a temporary job last summer. Was only supposed to last about 3 months. Well... it ended last week, and now I'm job hunting in massive recession. Sucks hardcore. Job hunting on monster and my college job site has yielded nothing. Alternatively, I have coffee experience as a barista and am trying to get back into Starbucks until I can get into grad school... next year

For the people in the USA, the US government is almost always hiring. I work in the Dept of Treasury, and we are hiring several thousand new employees in the next few months. A very large proportion of the current employees are very close to retirement age, and so we will be hiring for the next few years. www.usajobs.gov/ for a listing of jobs

I was just "laid-off" from my current gig at a stable/farm. I worked there for three whole years! Major mistake! They needed me. I'm waiting for a phone call pleading that they want me back. Think it will happen? lol. So now the search is on. While looking at the posts above, I can tell that my chance of employment somewhere is bleak. Craptacular!
