Hi I'm wondering how does everyone with large collections keep track of what they have, how many of each item etc? I've got a large collection of Whedonverse items that I've been collecting since Buffy first started and really need to inventory them Also I've got a few 12 inch figures who's boxes wont stay closed - has anyone here had that and what did you do to fix it? I've tried regluing the velcro back onto the cardboard but it never stays glued on! I've thought about just blu tacking the door closed but then would that have a reaction to the cardboard? and lastly I've looked through the thread about how do you display your collection and really want to know where people got hold of the Buffy inflatable chair and what country is it from e.g America, U.K?

Hey, Welcome... I also have a few 12 inch figures who's boxes wont stay closed, what did I do? nothing, I have all the boxers lying flat anyway so they stay closed. I have most of the 6" figures, how do I keep track of what I have? I wrote it on the side of the cardboard box that I put them in and stored them in my celler... I really do love my Whedonverse Collectables...

I have an excel spreadsheet that I have listed all the items with the Replacement Value. Excel is great because you can sum things and calculate what other things you need to include like taxes and shipping and exchange rates (I live in Canada and most pricing is in US dollars).
I actually have different spreadsheets in one "Collectibles" Excel workbook. All my Buffy action figures, Sideshow, Palz, statues, etc. are listed (with replacement value) arein one spreadsheet. I have a sheet where I have listed all my comics - categorized by publisher and series plus replacement value. I also have listed all the Buffy and Angel magazines I own (and replacement value). The only thing I haven't added is my Buffy and Angel trading cards and the CCG Buffy cards.
I suggest that you keep an inventory and replacement value and have the value covered under your house/tenant insurance plan. There is usually a rider for collectibles. Your collection is likely worth several thousand dollars.
