my all time favorite band (other than the beatles) have broken up!!!!!! Ryan Ross (who writes the songs and plays Lead Guitar) and Jon Walker (Bass Guitar) have left Panic! At the Disco to pursue a duo project. This Leaves Brendon Urie (Lead Vocals, Rythmic Guitar, Bass Guitar, Pianist, Organ, Cellist, etc.) and Spencer Smith (Drums)... this kind of upsets me. but it sounds like they won't stay apart for long. But good news: they started working on their 3rd studio album!!! *AND YES THERE IS A REASON I KEPT THE "!" IN P!ATD... i have a playlist on iTunes called: You can't Panic without "!"

i'm really excited for the 3rd album cuz apparently it has more of A Fever You Can't Sweat Out sound to it...
Pretty. Odd. was IMO terrible. they tried to make it sound to folkey and Folkin' Around was very country.

I heard about this through Twitter because most of the people I follow are part of the All Time Low fan club, and most of those people are huge PATD fans. So all day (July 6th) I was reading tweets about how these girls were crying about Panic breaking up. I think it sucks, especially since I have tickets to see them with Blink-182 and Fall Out Boy in August. I was looking forward to seeing PATD, but now it's just going to be half of the band. I wish they could've at least stayed together for the Blink tour. (Which makes me think of the Blink-182 song "Stay Together for the Kids" haha.)

PATD always brings their A-game no matter what they're doing; it's very refreshing. Compared to most band break-ups, this one's pretty mellow. It's not like the drama of Metallica or blink-182.

Okay, more information to add that has not been said:
- the band split up due to creative differences. brendan and spencer wanted to take the band in a more fever you can't sweat out direction, ryan and john wanted to take it in a more pretty. odd. direction. - the ! that was originally been in the name was a typo, so they took it out for the 2nd album. it has now been re-established. hmmm, i wonder who was against it? - the 3rd studio album was written and recorded while the band was still together, and is going to be released. - ryan and john's new band is called "the young viens" and i have heard one song. they are basically the beatles - panic! at the disco have a new single out, it's been out for about a month. It was released as a promotional video for the movie jennifer's body. the video makes it very clear that it is just brendan and spencer. it's a brilliant song :-) - the first album was basically written by spencer so we should be safe on that front - i'm not half obsessed with panic :-)

Oh, I liked Panic at the Disco. Both their cds were really good. I like that their music actually changed/evolved and everything. So I'll probably check out the new stuff of both sides of the split.
