Just for a sidenote, not being a huge Tahmoh Penikett fan, does anyone else find him rather unattractive and posessing a striking resemblance to Quentin Tarantino? He seems like a good actor, but I don't understand all the "he's so dreamy" swooning and adulation. Dane, never have I been more sure that you're not a woman. Tahmoh is so completely different than Quentin Tarantino. Tahmoh has this incredible charm and self-confidence while Tarantino is palpably twitchy and weird. Plus Tahmoh is crazy built while Tarantino has a much smaller frame. Tahmoh has charm, Tarantino has craziness. And Tahmoh is very yummy. I was really hoping someone was going to back me up on this. I just don't understand the attraction. Tahmoh Penikett has a great body, but the adoration is disconcerting. David Boreanaz (even when he was puffy!) and James Marsters I understood, there may have even been a little swooning from yours truly, but Tahmoh Penikett is lost on me. I can't be the only one.

I really enjoyed the show. My husband wasn't interested in it, but he sat down and watched it. Toward the end of the show, however, he was glued to the screen and fast-forwarding through commericals before I even had a chance to grab the remote.
At first, I was confused by the episode.
I only hope it won't be cancled after a few episodes.

I loved it!
But I think it was more the concept of the show that I loved compared to the actual episode.
I think for the pilot joss could have found a more exciting plot, it seemed more of a mid season filler with the kidnapping thing.
The sets are absolutely bloody incredible though! Very impressed.
My only worry, I dont know how we are going to be fully aligned with the character of Echo because she technically doesnt have a personality of her own. Its gonna be be hard to connect with her and relate to her, whereas instead well be having a new thing each week. the whole thing with the previous abduction and child rape, I originally thought happened to Echo before she joined the Dollhouse and it was jogging some previous memory and really added a new dimension to this character....but it turned out it was just part of one of the personalities they ebued her with, in effect not really having any relevance to the character and was just something for this one off plot.
so yeh, loved it. Great concept, great production design. Only worry is how the character of Echo wil be developed so the audience actually feels some kind of allegiance to her.

I just watched the first episode online (I wasn't home when it aired). I was actually very impressed. I thought Eliza was great and I can't wait to see more.

PUFFY!!!!! omg how can you say such a thing. he wasnt puffy that was just what guys looked like. now he's all skinny just like everyone else. quiet yourself . puffy lol anyway I still just am not a huge fan of Eliza so that was my only problem. it will be a continuing problem, but its not that bad. she seemed to be very SMG in this role but maybe she'll lighten up

I enjoyed the pilot. I'm concerned about the longevity factor, though. If the main conflict of the show is that Echo starts remembering past missons and what's being done to her - and that has already started to happen in the very first episode - I am curious how they're going to keep it fresh. Sure, she can play a variation on the action-girl every episode that would be entertaining, but Joss is better than that. I want to see some major character development or I'm bored. I'm intruiged, though. I'll definitely tune in next week.

I want more!

Someone explain Amy Ackers characters part? Did she have scars? And what was with the man who erases their memory? He gave Amy Acker a weird look.
And what was with the boxing guy that was in the bathroom.

Ha Fredikins, Dollhouse overload. lol Anyone got guesses on that half naked guy at the end. Obviously he's looking for Echo/Caroline. My guess is that he's either a guy Echo did something too befre she went into the Dollhouse or it's her Dad looking for her and trying to get her out of the Dollhouse. Either way it looks good. Eliza said that this mystery is a big thing to be played through out the series.

It's the second most downloaded T.V. episode on Itunes right now. I think that's a good sign. It's right under Battlestar Galactica. Will they ever average in number of times watched online, downloaded, and DVRed into the ratings? Or is it always just live?

Here's a great analysis of the imagery and allusions in Ghost by Pointy. A very enlightening read. It will make you feel both smarter for having read it and dumber for not thinking of these things yourself.

Its intresting but I feel dumb for not understand half of it. BUT, the parts that I did understand were enlightening.
I really hadnt thought about the imagery of the opening titles with how it was supposed to represent the multiple personalities and how each day she can be something drastically different. I think the one part where she looks in the mirror and is changing only to stay the same in the mirrror is supposed to represent two things: 1) How she is a doll and she is getting "dressed up". 2) How no one really knows who she is and is is really blank.

Somebody make me feel better My mom LOVED Buffy...and I recently finished watching Firefly/Serenity with her and she loved that too. Now, it came time to show her (and my father tagged along) the first episode of Dollhouse. Now, I'm with most people that say it wasn't as strong as they would have expected from Whedon and it certainly wasn't the greatest thing ever...but they hated it and made fun of it the whole time . I mean, I thought the second act made up for the first but they didn't. I'm just very sad. I told my mom to have faith cause its Whedon and everything and she has liked his previous works...just saddens me. . Does anyone know how next week will be?

Aw man, that sucks. Next week is suppose to be a lot better. FOX raved about it, moved it up from the third episode to the second, and many reviewers were wondering why it wasn't the pilot instead.
