Hey all, so.... did BtVS open you up to a new kind of music, or introduce you to a band/singer whom you wouldn't have discovered otherwise? Here's the place to discuss your all-time favorite musical guests! My favorites: Nickel-- they played the song "Stupid Thing" in S2's School Hard. Back in 1998, it was hard to do research on this band over dial-up connection. Aimee Mann- I love Aimee Mann so I was just happy to see her on Buffy Am I correct in thinking she is the only musical guests with lines? "I hate playing in vampire towns." (S7's "Sleeper")

You are correct, although in Dirty Girls the girls actually talk about the band playing, since that band is in fact Nerf Herder, the guys who recorded the Buffy theme song. Nerf Herder, by the way, is amazing. Thank you Aly Hannigan for recommending them to Joss - as soon as I found out who they were, I promptly picked up all albums.

I can't remember who the band is, but I love the song in the season 7 episode "Sleeper". The scene where Spike is fighting that female vamp that he sired at the Bronze. Afterwords the lead singer says "I hate playing vampire towns." I love the song their playing during the fight scene, just not sure who the band is. Anybody know?

I've gotta go with the consensus, and pick Aimee Mann (particularly for Blue), Four Star Mary and K's Choice.

I've downloaded a lot of songs from musicians who appeared on Buffy, but my vote goes to K's Choice. I just loved "Virgin State of Mind" and went out of my way add it to my collection. I even went on to buy two of their albums. Great Stuff.
Honorable Mentions go to Four Star Mary, Cibo Matto & Aimee Mann

Are we including T.H.C. (the band Veruka sings with) cos I'd pick them too. Yup, I think that's okay! If they get on a stage and perform, it should count Fake bands need love too!

Holy hell yes, Buffy totally turned my musical taste around. Pavlov's Bell by Aimee Mann, I Know by Trespasser's William, and Blue by Angie Hart are my 3 favorite songs ever. If it wasn't for Buffy, I never would've heard them!

Are we including T.H.C. (the band Veruka sings with) cos I'd pick them too. They are by far by favorite! THC's album with the 3 songs from Buffy is superb(it's called "Adagio"). I really enjoy a lot of those songs. My second place band would promptly go to Trespassers William. I like how haunting and calm their songs are. Their albums are superb as well. I just want Buffy to come out with a massive compilation of all of these songs that isn't just a huge torrent, ha ha.

There was a band called Lotion that played in a couple of episodes. They were the band playing in "Phases" when OzWolf jumps on the stage and scatters them.
I saw them play a few years ago in a club in Syracuse where they were opening for Frank Black. They were great... I got to meet them after the show and bought a CD from them which a couple of the band members signed. It was called "The Telephone Album" and is actually probably one of my 10 favorite albums of all time.
Anyway, they were a great band and it was cool to meet them. (They've since broken up.) I didn't even know until afterwards that they'd been on Buffy.
