I picked my favorite episode as opposed to which episode I think is the best. This was so hard!

All the episodes listed here are winners and picking between them is hard, but for me I went with the musical. It was just so brilliant and well crafted. Even the small bits are just booming with life.

I decided to go with OMWF cuz it's my favourite episode amongst them

Lol.. not surprised by the top 4 at all. I picked "The Gift". My favorite Buffy episode ever.

I had a hard time picking between OMWF and The Body. As a Top Episode they both deserve to be there, because they are GROUNDBREAKING, creative and beautiful pieces of screen - but in the end I went with The Body, because while I absolutely adore OMWF, I think it already gets the credit it's due by the fans and non-fans alike, whereas The Body is still not appreciated in outside circles, when it SHOULD be much more well-known because of how amazing it is.

I have a friend I got to watch Buffy and I kept telling her the Body a really incredible episode and boasting about it. But she told me, until she actually saw it she didn't know Joss could do something like that, and it changed her opinion about Buffy so much - as a Screen major at Uni she really saw what was so brilliant about it. She also loves OMWF but the body is just something so very different and deserves number 1 status!

Well that was really, really hard to choose. I chose Hush though but I like them all equally.

I see what you're saying, and as a Film & Video major myself I can honestly say that The Body is a masterpiece from beginning to end. The cinematography in the episode is better than anything I've seen in any other TV shows or Buffy episodes. So in that regard, yes it is superior to the other episodes listed.

However, as others have posted, OMWF was just way more enjoyable and had a better balance of emotions which is why I think it's winning.

I voted for the Body. IMHO it's better than OMWF, though they are easily my top two.

Yeah I think you're right about the 'enjoyability'. It's tricky I guess because all of those episodes are different kinds of 'top' episodes for me. Most enjoyable - OMWF, Masterpiece - Body, Best Scare - Hush, and gift is a great episode in lots of ways, up there in the 'top finales'...well they're all tops.
