Now all we need is for them to give it a better time slot than Friday night. Sadly, doesn't look like that is going to happen *sigh*.

I think at ComicCon Joss said he was fine with being in that timeslot, because there's less pressure to do well. Everybody knows Friday is a dead night (CBS is lowering their standards for "good" ratings on Fridays so they can keep Numb3rs around) - the only people who watch on Fridays are the ones who want to. I expect (and I think FOX would agree) that Dollhouse will probably get the same or slightly better ratings leading into the second season; that would be ideal, because it means they haven't lost anybody since the first season ended. It all comes down to confidence in the show, and by now I think a lot of people are confident in Joss & Co's ability to tell stories via television. It's their business AND their purpose.

I'm just happy they finally lowered their Friday-night standard to realistic possibilities. What... like set-up costs of new shows cost less than continuing a show with its set already constructed?

Yeah let's not forget that FOX passed on giving money for the pilot episode of the show in order to construct the Dollhouse set(s). That was pretty cool of them at least. I think that's part of the reason why Joss says we'll see no change in the show despite the lowered budget for this season.

This is true. Although the reason I didn't watch the first season when it came on, downloaded it later, was because I didn't realize it was on Friday. Had I known that I would have been one of those loyal viewers week after week.

I mean I watched it when it was on but I also DVR'd it and bought it on iTunes. So I think every little bit counted. Not to mention the awesome DVD sales probably makes the network optimistic.

I don't know, the first season wasn't that good in retrospect. Dollhouse is definitely his weakest show. But i still enjoy it.

Even though Buffy and Dollhouse are two entirely different things, Dollhouse S1 was a lot more put together and thought out than Buffy S1. I never did like Firefly much, but Angel is good enough. I strongly disagree with your statement. To each his own I guess. ;D

Yeah, you really can't judge Dollhouse by its first few episodes. You have to stick with it for you to really appreciate it.

I started watching Dollhouse last night (my DVDs finally arrived, I had them imported from GB where they are out now) - and I was hooked right from the first second. And how amazing is Olivia Williams? I'm so happy it got a second season, who knows how long it's going to last. Maybe we will all be surprised by its longevity?

Wow. I forgot that I posted this. I read through your comments and found them quite interesting. Lots of different opinions in there and I love to see what others think.
As for me, I have high hopes for season two. I have a feeling that it will get better viewers, mainly because of all the online news the renewel has gotten.
Although I hope Dollhouse only has half seasons. I think a full season would drag the storyline wayyy to much and half seasons of any show seem stronger.
