Jo's cover is just perfection, that has to be one of my Top 3 favorites of the series so far. Jeanty's is nice too, doesn't really capture the characters, but the setting is amazing. I love the sound of there being some Buffy and Willow tension, it's something that needs to be brought up after Anywhere But Here, and of course what Buffy saw in Time of Your Life. This arc is just sounding better and better. The idea of Buffy just wanting to settle down is great.

Chen cover is beautiful but I am not a fan of the varient at all. I dont like the art or the likeness. However, Jo's cover is wonderful and its cool that the group is back together. I k ow they are using meditation and all but maybe they are all going to contact Vasuki for the first time...

I think he conveys a lot in the three faces about what Buffy and Faith and Willow are thinking right then and how they feel about their current situation. I notice Jo's covers tend to be pinups while Georges does his from the perspective of a sequential artist... he likes to draw action and show the characters in the process of doing something specific. I love 'em both. |

aha, i figured out what's wrong with my comp. i saw them both.
Jo Chen's cover is beautiful as always. they should make poster versions of them.
and, to agree with the crowd, the variant one i am not loving.

How many people think that’s Faith behind Buffy in the variant? Because I just assumed it was Kennedy but I’ve seen a few people think it was Faith?

So I think I've figured out what's bothering me with this variant - Buffy is enjoying tilling soil? Hamnoo? Maybe pulverizing rocks or moving heavy objects out of the fields, but what amounts to gardening? I'm reaching in my memory banks for any sign of characterization that Buffy would be inclined towards this sort of thing. Every sort of menial labor that didn't involve her immense strength was always eschewed. I'm recalling her saying that Giles had to dig up the corpses because the women had the babies, jokingly getting out of having to dig. Of course, this is contrasted by Buffy digging Chloe's grave in Get it Done. So she's finally willing to get her hands dirty. But still...gardening, it feels a bit off.
I'm guessing that it's going to be introduced as something new that she's discovered she likes. Buffy likes gardening now. And also doing dishes and hemming clothes. The outfits are also kinda killing me too, but I guess it's undercover wear. But I'm choking with laughter at the fashion conscientious slayer wearing the loose, non-form-fitting robes of the Yak.
It just struck me as odd.

The whole setting of this arc reminds me of when the scoobies left Sunnydale to escape Glory. It's kinda the same here where they are all relocating to probably get away from under Twilight's radar.
