I think you can see more of the wearer of the mask's likeness. Who does he look like to you people? I have my little thought, based on some of the lines on the mask, but I don't want to turn this thread into a Twilight debate. Love the cover, not as good as Chen's would have been, but its very COMIC-Y like.

I think that coat looks a lot like Spikes', but I'm not sure. Could be Angel too. I'm really hoping its one of them.

The only fear I have about Twilight being one of the main characters is that it could really ruin them for me. Right now I think Twilights a very hateful, evil person and don’t find anything redeeming about him. They could make him more sympathetic and conflicted but if they don’t, I can’t really enjoy whoever it turns out to be.
I agree with Nile on whedonesque who said it does look like the Master's face under that mask. Though I really doubt it's him..

I doubt very much the artist knows Twilight's identity.

I really dislike the cover. I guess I got used to the characters' amazing likeness in Jo Chen's covers...
As for the rest, great theories folks! Personally I agree with the idea that the Slayer power is finite and by empowering all the potentials, they might have made the wrong decision, because of all the power beingconcentrated in one short period of time, leaving future generations short of new slayers.

How is this not an amazing likeness of Twilight who has only been depicted as drawings in the comics? How could Chen have done it any better? That doesn't really make sense to me. Twilight is a comic book character born and bred. It makes sense to have this cover of him in the pure comics style as a throwback to the Golden Age comic superheros. Just further highlighting how he views himself as the not-villain of the piece.

I definitely like the cover. I don't love it like I love Jo's, but it's way better than the Foster covers (save for #12, which I really like). The belts and the skirt thing are definitely strange, but other than that, the cover is badass.

I think someone on Whedonesque said that Twilight had 3 belts in earlier issues, but I haven't confirmed that myself. If so... then I guess the cover just makes the belts stand out more, which makes them more jarring. Either way, wearing 3 belts is still a weird thing to do. Evil or not.

Look at Twilight's appearance in NFFY 4. He has three belts and the undershirt flows out like that also. I figure the 3 belts thing has to do with the magic number 3, so it's pertinent to the design of his costume and look.

He's got an image to protect.

It’s funny how lean Twilight is in the comics in comparison to the two front covers that he’s been featured in. They’ve both depicted him as much bulkier and a lot more like Dr Doom whereas Jeanty has gone for a slightly different look. Honestly, I think I prefer Jeanty’s way of drawing him as I can’t imagine anyone we know being the size Twilight is in the covers. I still think he’s a very awesome looking big bad. I never had noticed the three belts or the frilly shirt that sticks out underneath his chest plate so it’s very cool to notice these things so late in the season.

Jeanty's cover is up at darkhorse.com. It's one of his best ones yet.

That...is awesome! Xander looks hysterical. The guns will certainly spark some fun debate, I'd imagine. Especially Simone and her whole deal.

That is amazing. And honestly kind of sad and scary. That's not right. The art is so good, and I know it's a homage cover, but the guns piss me off... in a good way kind of. We knows guns will be featured, but I didn't expect the Slayers to be using them. Buffy being the only one who isn't must mean something symbolic. So crazy, this will be interesting to see.

WOOHOO! Sergeant Fury and his Howling Commandos! I see Buffy is the only one holding out against firearms. Is that Dawn just beneath OzWolf? And who's the girl on the far left? Rowena? This must be an awful situation for the Slayers. They've lost their magic, so apparently they're just ordinary girls with a lot of training... and that training has not included firearms. I have a feeling issues 29 and 30 are going to hurt... a lot.
