The "lesbian fan base" has never had to "force" Joss into doing anything. He made Willow a lesbian icon because he wanted to. He's not going to take that away now.
"Sexual fluidity" does not mean characters have to lurch wildly back and forth from het to gay to het... Willow's sexual identity is an evolution of her character, not a flavor of the month.
I can't tell you how disappointed I'll be in Oz's character if he's spent the last 4 years of his probably very eventful life pining away for his high school girlfriend. Not every cute couple have to be treated like Eternal Soulmates Blessed by the Gods of Olympus. Most of the time, relationships fall apart. ALL of the time, in the Jossverse.
Willow and Oz have decisively moved on. There will probably be some lingering feelings one way or another, but Woz is a matter for the history books.

You said it much better.

because frankly if Angel and Buffy can have an undying love, why cant Willow and Oz. Thank you! While I don't think Oz and Will have an "undying love" I do like the point that Buffy and Angel can have that treatment when it is clear that it will NEVER work out unless things change and I really don't see Angel "Shanshuing" anytime soon. When he does, then it will be okay for them to hook up and hell I am even looking forward to that day! If Buffy is still around that is! I can't tell you how disappointed I'll be in Oz's character if he's spent the last 4 years of his probably very eventful life pining away for his high school girlfriend. I don't think that Oz has spent his last four plus years longing or waiting for Willow either, but I do think there could still be some feelings floating around in each of them. And just maybe they are enough to start a small spark between them. Plus with Buffy in some point of time giving the demons the boot, wouldn't that include Oz? That could also give him and Willow a new way to connect. Do I want Oz and Willow to be a long term thing again? No, of course not, but I would like to see them be a couple for sometime again.

What I mean is I personally think that if Joss started making creative decisions based on what he thought fan reaction would be, then Buffy would turn to crap. We are all on here because of the beautiful world of Buffy that JOSS WHEDON created, and whether we like it or not, some people tend to think that Joss wouldnt pair Willow and Oz up again because of the backlash he would recieve from the LGBT community. When someone is coming up with their own ideas, such as Joss, I believe its wrong to base what he will do on the fans.
Right, we understand that Willow is now this gay icon, but people are going to have to face facts. Willow and Oz were once a couple, a couple who were ADORED by fans. And I am not opposed to Willow and Tara as I believe that was a great decision and a wonderful relationship, but based on Joss's beliefs, I like and understand if Willow and Oz were to get back together.
And when I say "they have their gay Willow", what I mean is if Willow and Oz were to get back together, that wouldnt erase the past relationships that Willow has had with women. She identifies herself as gay, but based on the whole concept of fluid sexuality, if Willow wanted to ge back with a man whom she formally had a sexual and emotional relationship with, its obvious and fits.

People seem to think the relationship between Willow and Kennedy is just a bunch of vapor that means nothing... that Will is just waiting for any conceivable alternative and she's going to ditch her. While I understand many fans don't like Kennedy and *wish* that would happen, wishing won't make it so. That's not the story Joss has been writing. It was made extremely clear that Willow genuinely loves Kennedy, to the point she chose her over Buffy. It's equally clear that Kennedy reciprocates.
Joss isn't about to make creative decisions based on the fans' dislike of Kennedy, either.
And Oz has a new woman in his life too, apparently.
I would think much less of these characters if they got back together at this point. Times have changed, and they have changed.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

I always thought Kennedy grounded Willow at precisely the moment she needed it. I don't think Kennedy had any inkling that she needed to be more of a grounding force than she thought she was, though.
I feel cranky at Kennedy because of the 'tude towards Buffy in S7. Guess that's old news, now, though. I'm mostly over it, but I still find that I'm not sure about Kennedy and Willow as a couple (Killow? Willowy?), still. Not sure why that is. Maybe it's because they're such an odd couple - but that might exactly be why Joss thinks they could stay together for so long. This is the longest relationship Willow's ever had. Maybe even the longest for Kennedy. I'd definitely say they're committed.
As for Kennedy personally, she's still possessive and jealous, but I can tell she's matured some, and she's apparently grown into a good leader and a good Slayer. In fact, if Buffy were gone I can only think of 2 who might be suitable to lead in her stead - Faith (first) or Kennedy. (I feel confident in Satsu's ability because Buffy's confident in her ability, but I haven't been persuaded that she's cut out to lead an army. Lead a squad, yes. Army, not sure.)
