vampmogs: "Echoes" was sandwiched between the excellent "Man on the Street" and very cathartic "Needs", but it's definitely a dull point in the latter 6. Actually... "Haunted" was also only a passable episode, with the highlight (for me) being the Topher side story.

Voted for Epitaph One, but Man On the Street was close.
If I had to make a list it would go something probably like this:
1. Epitaph One 2. Man on the Street 3. Echoes 4. Briar Rose 5. The Target 6. Spy in the House of Love 7. Needs 8. Haunted 9. Omega 10. Stage Fright 11. Grey Hour 12. Ghost 13. True Believer
I think I'm one of the few who didn't really like Omega. Other than when Amy Acker was on screen I found the episode kinda trite, and the dialogue forced and static. The line when Eliza Dushku says "in order to ascend on any level you have to not force a woman into a chair" or something similar to that, I literally groaned. I'm definitely a feminist, but this line came out of nowhere and just seemed to be a way to be like "hey Joss Whedon is still feminist everybody!" And the ending seemed so blah. He throws the wedge then runs away. It seemed like nothing was really gained. =/

For me it’s; 1) Epitaph One 2) Omega 3) Man on the Street 4) Spy In The House Of Love 5) Briar Rose 6) Haunted 7) The Target 9) Echo (Original Pilot) 10) Grey Hour 11) Ghost 12) Echoes- I don’t get why everybody lumps this episode in with the other great episodes from ep 6 onwards. I found it absolutely terrible. 13) True Believer 14) Stage Fright The top 5 were really hard to put in order and I'm not sure I'm happy with my final list. The only episode I'm sure should be no1 is Epitaph One but spots 2-4 varies on what day of the week it is. I just re-watched "A Spy In The House of Love" today and it's a terrific episode. I pretty much agree with you 100%. I really didn't like Echoes either. Your list is very much so how mine would be. ;D *karmas*

Easy, Epitaph One. One of the best episodes of any series I've seen in a very long time!

My favourite episode was Epitaph One, by far. I enjoyed the entire series, but Epitaph One was fantastic. Really looking forward to S2 now.

While Epitaph One is obviously the superior episode I kind of loved Spy in the House of Love. I really liked how it kept building on itself and we got to see a more humane side of Adelle and more depth of her character along with its contrasting hardness. Plus she looks really nice in pink

Best to Worst
1. Echo 2. Man on the Street 3. Epitaph One 4. Omega 5. Briar Rose 6. Needs 7. Spy in the House of Love 8. Gray Hour 9. The Target 10. True Believer 11. Ghost 12. Echoes 13. Haunted 14. Stage Fright
I don't really under stand all "Spy in the House of Love" attention. Solid episode, for sure, but on rewatches I always thought it lacked the same punch that the rest of the successful episodes did. It seemed distant and only simply to move the season arc from point A to B.

I guess I must have too small a brain because Epitaph One made absolutely no sense to me whatsoever, which made it my least fav epi of the season. My fav was Spy in the House of Love, but probably cause Dominic got sent to the attic and I hated that bastard!

I genuinely loved the whole season but I had to go with Epitaph One cuz i remember sitting there watching Adair Tishler taking on the persona of Eliza Dushku and I was awestruck! That girl is one incredible actress and she is going to go far! She got all of her little mannerisms down to a tee! And I loved the storyline and I cried at the Topher scene with Adelle...Overall it was fantastic!

i still need to re-watch Echo, so i won't place it yet, but it'd probably be before or after Echoes

My order... Man On The Street (Unaired Pilot) Spy in the House of Love Briar Rose The Target Grey Hour Omega Epitaph One Needs Haunted Echoes Ghost True Believer Stage Fright Probably in the minority here, but "Epitaph One" was kinda overrated for me. It was a solid episode, yes, but I found most of the performances kinda forgettable. Felicia Day was more than a tad blah for me, and the only standout performances were from Acker and Kranz. Had to go with "Man on the Street" because it was the episode that actually convinced me that Dollhouse could be good. The first five eps were rather lackluster, but ep 6 was definitely a game changer. The plot twists, the pacing, the writing, etc were just pitch perfect on this one. Agreed, on both points.
