I chose "Spy in the House of Love" because it deserves a vote and it's tied for my favorite. This may change in time, though.

Spy in the House of Love, Omega and Needs were my favorites, I think. But I can't figure out which one to vote for.

I deliberately didnt vote for the final two eps because they were finales, of course they were going to be OTT epicness. I voted for Needs, I also really enjoyed Haunted. They were two episodes that cemented my like in the series. Both were a metaphorical window into what Joss could do with this story setting.

easily epitaph one.
But outside of finales...Briar Rose.
I wasnt a huge fan of Omega. Didnt like Minears direction at all, it was kinda jumpy and unclear and came across as amateurish to me. His script was great however, so I think he should stick with the writing and not so much with the directing. The fight scene between echo and alpha just didnt really play out that dramatically which was disappointing as it was something the season had been building up to.
Briar rose however, awesome script, loved all the sleeping beauty references and the building up of tension was really entertaining. And the build up actually paid off with a really dramatic and unsettling ending, which Omega didn't in my eyes.
Far better than omega I think.

I loved Omega so much when it aired, probably just the adrenaline, but when I watched it on DVD, I just felt very underwhelmed when watching it with all the other episodes. The flashbacks, Whiskey, and ending montage were all perfect. The whole climax was very poorly shot and bored me. Alpha pointing his gun at a little plastic wedge just wasn't... exciting. It took a tumble on my list.

Probably in the minority here, but "Epitaph One" was kinda overrated for me. It was a solid episode, yes, but I found most of the performances kinda forgettable. Felicia Day was more than a tad blah for me, and the only standout performances were from Acker and Kranz.
Had to go with "Man on the Street" because it was the episode that actually convinced me that Dollhouse could be good. The first five eps were rather lackluster, but ep 6 was definitely a game changer. The plot twists, the pacing, the writing, etc were just pitch perfect on this one.

One of my favorite fight scenes of all time was the Echo/Paul fight in the restaurant kitchen and the back alley. Just brilliantly shot. I love the way Echo's face is revealed in the reflection of the swinging kitchen door, too.

For me it’s;
1) Epitaph One 2) Omega 3) Man on the Street 4) Spy In The House Of Love 5) Briar Rose 6) Haunted 7) The Target 9) Echo (Original Pilot) 10) Grey Hour 11) Ghost 12) Echoes- I don’t get why everybody lumps this episode in with the other great episodes from ep 6 onwards. I found it absolutely terrible. 13) True Believer 14) Stage Fright
The top 5 were really hard to put in order and I'm not sure I'm happy with my final list. The only episode I'm sure should be no1 is Epitaph One but spots 2-4 varies on what day of the week it is. I just re-watched "A Spy In The House of Love" today and it's a terrific episode.
