I think it was "the zeppo",but then i didn't see the rest of the season 3 ,and watch the season 4 from "Fear itself",and then never missed one single episode^^LOL

First episode I ever saw was The Gift and it was by accident I can't even remember how I got stuck on it. I just remember feeling sad for Buffy when she died. Honestly after that it kind of slipped my mind until UPN kept promoting the switch to their network and I thought why not watch it. The first episode that actually got me hooked was "Smashed." Surprise, surprise. : )

The first episode I remember watching was Welcome to the Hellmouth.
My brother got into it and then lent me his boxed set to watch a few years ago. I may have caught an episode on tv in passing before that, but I don't remember if I did.

okay, i remember the experience a bit more clearly:

when buffy premiered, i had just celebrated my third birthday... so if i had been born in the late 80's as opposed to the mid-90's, i'm sure i would've watched it immediately... but I saw "Go Fish" at my grandmother's house in july of 2002. It was on FX at exactly 2:00... i have a good memory, okay?!?!

and then i started my obsession on February 14, 2008 when i went to DC to visit my sister and i walked into FYE and i saw Buffy seasons 1, 2, 3, 5, and 7... i had already started watching Angel and i bought Season 3 so i could see Faith's origin story.then for my birthday on Feb. 22, i got seasons 1, 2, 4, and 5. and seasons 6 and 7 3 weeks later.

Very good memory. While I'm fairly sure Bad Eggs was my first ep, I know my grandfather bought me seasons 3 & 4 for my birthday shortly after that. I watched them on and off (mainly when I was at home sick from school, I'd have a huge marathon). Then a year or 2 later I saw Bargaining on tv when I was flipping through the channels, that's when my obsession really began. I remember the first scene I ever saw of it, and it was the scene where the motorcycle gang is raiding a neighbor's house across the street from Buffy's house and Spike is watching them, trying to find a way to get Dawn outta there.

I remember seeing a few reruns of early seasons on FX, but I didn't really pay attention so I don't remember which one was my first. The only episode I saw as it aired was Chosen, lol, so I guess I consider that my "first." Of course, I had *no* idea what was going on, but from then on, I was obsessed.

Well, technically the first episode I ever saw was The Witch, but I don't really remember watching it, or realise that it was even Buffy - I only realised when I was watching the series last year, and suddenly a flash of recognition when Cordelia's eyes turned white hit me - I remembered seeing that scene before, when I was younger lol.

But yeah, I started properly from the beginning. So the first ep I saw was Welcome to the Hellmouth, in April 08.

The first time i saw Btvs it was jan 2000 and i caught the last 30 mins of a rerun of innocence. It caught my attention enough for me to watch the brand new ep later that week, harsh light of day then in the dark. And cos of Spike and Buffy i was hooked instantly.
