I though it might be a good idea for us slayalivers to have a place to share our most favorite recipes (and it can be anything! main meals, desserts, cocktails etc.) Add as many recipes as you like! ;D the more the merrier! Oh and if a Mod or someone wants to change the title to Official please do so if you like i just put it as 'un'official because i dont know if i should I'll start with a dessert: Panna Cotta: 450ml thickened cream 4 tablespoons of caster sugar 2 tablespoons of grappa (optional) 1/4 teaspoon Vanilla Esence (you can add more for taste) 1 1/4 teaspoons and fruit to top Steps: 1. Put the cream and sugar in a sausepan and stir over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved. Bring to the boil, then simmer for 3 minutes, adding the grappa (if using) and vanilla extract. 2. Sprinkle gelatin onto the hot cream in an even layer and leave it soak in for a minute, then stir into the cream until dissolved. 3. Pour the mixture into four 125ml metal or ceramic ramekins (moulds), cover each with a piece of plastic wrap and refrigerate till set. 4. Unmould the panna cotta running a knife around the sides of the mould, then serve with your fav fruit, (best with berries!)

This is a really neat idea, especially since we have members from all over the world.
I make a mean spicy cheese dip that is great for football season (which happens to be starting soon):
You need: - 1 large brick of Velveeta - 1 can of Tostitoes Salsa (Hot) - 1 can of Tostitoes Con Queso (Medium) - 2 lbs of hamburger beef (or ground turkey)
Cube up the Velveeta and put into a large pot or crockpot and start melting. When partially melted, throw in the salsa and con queso. Mince and cook the beef, and once cooked dump into the pot with the cheese. You can add taco seasoning to the beef as well, for some extra flavor.
Mix periodically, and once all melted and blended, eat it with Tortilla chips!
If you like stuff really spicy you can throw in some jalapenos as well.

This is a wonderful idea! *karma* I'm gonna post some recipes as soon as I have a chance. I would love to see some stuff posted by different members around the world that I may never have heard of or tried (like panna cotta for example, lol)! And Wyndam, that Cheese Dip sounds bangin' !

Mmmm Recipes which leads to mmmmm FOOD!!!
I am gonna list recipes for 4 of my absolute favorite things to eat.
Warning: I am a very Southern girl and these are recipes either myself or my husband have grown up on! They may be high in typical greasy fatty goodness that comes with much of southern style cooking but...
They are also Awesomely Yummy!
Poppy Seed Chicken Casserole
Approx. 4 chicken breasts 1 can cream of chicken mushroom soup 8 oz. Sour Cream (about 3/4 cup) 2 Tbsp Poppy Seed 1 & 1/2 bags of Ritz crackers 1 Stick of butter
Boil approx. 4 deboned chicken breasts then cut and layer pieces in 13 x 9 casserole dish. Mix can cream of chicken mushroom soup, sour cream and poppy seed. Spoon over chicken in dish. Crumble Ritz crackers and then layer over items already in the casserole dish. Melt butter and spoon over crackers.
Bake at 400 degrees until casserole is bubbling and top is brown. Time tends to vary but around an hour to hour and a half in the oven.
Vegetable Casserole
1 can French style green beans 1 can shoe-peg corn 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese 1 can cream of celery soup 1/2 cup sour cream 1/2 cup chopped celery 1 sleeve of Ritz crackers 3/4 stick of butter
Mix all ingredients except crackers and butter in casserole dish. Top this mixture with crumbled crackers. Melt the butter and pour over the top of the crackers.
Bake at 350 degrees until bubbly. Takes about 30 to 40 minutes.
Chicken Spaghetti
1lb velveeta cheese (if you like more spicy use the mexican velveeta) 1 onion, chopped 1 can Ro-Tell vegetables 1 can cream of chicken soup 1 bell pepper, chopped 1 stick butter 4 chicken breasts 1 pkg (12 - 16 oz.) spaghetti noodles
Boil chicken. Saute onion and pepper in butter until tender. Cook spaghetti in the chicken broth. Drain. Add pepper, onion, Ro-tell, soup and chicken (cut into pieces) to the drained spaghetti then stir. Place in an 11 x 14 baking dish and top with the Velvetta.
Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes.
So I have a zillion more recipes but I figure I will stop here for now. Let me know if you guys want me to post some more.

Yum those sound delicious Meliafairy! Please post more, I looooovvve southern food. And Wyndam- It's funny how some people stay on the fence about Virginians being Southerners...I got my head bitten off once for calling myself Southern, glad to know somebody else agrees!! Sure, maybe it ain't the deep south, but close enough with the accents and the attitudes, lol.

I grew up on and love southern food, and all of my family is from VA or other places down South, so I have no problem saying I am Southern!

Back by popular demand...
More recipes from Leia (who doesnt cook very often but has a zillion recipes for the foods I love)
Beef Stroganoff
2 lbs round steak (or meatballs to make cooking quicker) 2 cans cream of mushroom soup 1 or 2 onions minced 1 can of mushrooms (optional) 1 cup sour cream 1 tsp Worchestershire sauce 1 package butter noodles
Cut steak into small pieces; brown w/onions. Salt slightly & pepper to taste. Add soup, worchestershire & mushrooms to meat. Cook all until tender Cook noodles in separate pot. Add noodles and sour cream to meat mixture
Chunk O' Cheese Meatloaf
1 1/2 lb ground beef 1/4 lb (4oz) fresh mushroom 1 med. onion chopped 1/4 cup minced parsley 3/4 cup dry bread crumbs 1 egg 1 1/4 tsp salt 1/4 tsp pepper 3/4 cup milk 1/2 lb (8oz) extra sharp cheddar cheese
Blend all ingredients except cheese. Dice cheese into 1/2 inch cubes. Blend into meat mixture by hand making sure to disperse cheese evenly throughout. Pack into 9 x 5 x 3 loaf pan (sometimes it fits better in 2 pans) Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour - 1hour and 15 minutes. Pour off all liquid.

This is one of my all time favourite recipes! Cornflake Crumbed Chicken2 Chicken Breasts 2 Cups of cornflakes (crushed) 2 Eggs 1 cup of plain flour Olive oil (to cook the chicken in) Coat the chicken in the flour. Beat the eggs in a bowl and dip the flour coated chicken in the eggs. Crush the cornflakes in a seperate bowl then press the crushed cornflakes onto the chicken until well coated. Fry in a pan with olive oil (i like extra virgin) until golden brown and crunchy. (For added flavour to the chicken you can add herbs and spices to the flour before coating the chicken.) Damper4 cups of self raising flour 2 Table spoons of Olive Oil 1/2 Cup powered Milk 1 2/3 cups of water Put into bowl and mix till it's a dough. Add flour to base of cooking container, just a sprinkle, put in dough and sprinkle with flour. Cook for approx 40 mins (or until it sounds hollow). Try a Moderate to Hot oven, I'd try Hot (not really sure as i've only cooked this in a camp oven!) You can vary the recipe by adding grated cheese, herbs, spices etc. YUM!!! Just experiment and have fun with it!

Wow i completely forgot i made this thread!
well, here is my "Cup" Cake recipe
Cake in a Cup: 4 tbsp self raising 4 tbsp sugar (I prefer Caster Sugar) 2 tbsp cocoa 1 egg 3 tbsp milk 3 tbsp oil 3 tbsp chocolate drops Splash of vanilla essence 1 mug
Steps 1. Mix all the dry folks together. 2. Crack an egg and add it to your mug. Be sure to mix it well to avoid any pockets of flour in the corners 3. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. (It will be hard to mix properly together at first but it gets easier) 4. Add the chocolate drops if you've got them, and a splash of vanilla essence too. 5. Pop your mug into the microwave and zap for 3 minutes on maximum power (1000 watt). 6. Wait until the cake stops rising and sets in the mug. 7. If necessary, run a knife around the sides of the mug and tip the still warm cake out of the mug and onto a saucer and bang you're done!.
One thing i like to do as well is pour chocolate ice-cream topping over the cake (after you get it out of the mug) which makes a nice tasty finish.

Ok this is super simple but foolproof, quick, and super yummy Doesn't really have a name but its my fave 2 bags of "Boil-in-a-bag" rice (or you can make your own, we're just not a very ethnic family) 4 chicken breasts 2(maybe 3) pillsberry croisant rolls (the ones you roll and make yourself) 3 cans of Campbell's cream of mushroom soup brocoli (however much you want) directions: - preheat the oven to temp instructed on croisant package - line a glass baking pan (the deeper the better) with the croisants - bake in oven til golden - boil the rice (or cook it if you legit know how to make rice) - put the brocoli on to boil (i don't like anything on the brocoli but you can make it to your liking) - cook the chicken in a pan on the stove til its fully cooked - pour cans of cream of mushroom on the chicken (still in the pan), cover the pan, and turn the stove to simmer (the soup is now technically a gravy) - once everything is fully cooked cut the chick into bite size pieces and mix the rice, chicken and all the gravy together in the rice pot - once successfully mixed pour the mixture into the croisant crust and evenly distribute - put the whole thing in the oven for a few more minutes to make sure it is still hot - cut into large squares and serve with brocoli on the side so obviously i'm not a cook but i swear this is delicious and super convenient

The only thing I really make well is Rice Krispie Treats. But you can find that recipe on the marshmallow bag.
I used to know a really awesome recipe for baked mac and cheese as well. If I ever find that, I'll try to post it here.

Mapricot Chicken
6 chicken breasts (skin off) 800 mills Apricot Nectar 600 mills Mango Nectar 1 can Mango slices 50 grams pack of French onion soup mix Rice or potato
1) Cook the chicken breasts whole in large electric frying pan (if you don't have one a normal frying pan will do) 2) While the chicken is cooking mix both nectars and French onion soup in a large bowl 3) Remove the cooked chicken, pour the nectar/soup mix into the frying pan, then chop the chicken in small pieces. 4) Once the nectar/soup mix starts boiling and add the chicken and the mango pieces 5) Allow Mixture to simmer for about 20-30 minutes. 6) With this dish you can have either Rice or Mashed Potato (all up to your personal tastes, i prefer Mashed potato) so make whichever you like.

People have told me this sounds gross before, but I don't care. It's my favorite thing ever and I swear I could happily eat it everyday. I rarely messure anything while cooking, so I'll give my best guestimate. Tuna CasseroleIngredients: - A pound of egg noodles.
- Two cans of tuna.
- Two cans of either cream of chicken or cream of mushroom condensed soup.
- One glob of sour cream.
- A few splashes of red wine vinegar.
- A bag of frozen peas or one can.
- One bag of chips.
Instructions: 01.) Preheat the oven to about 400 degrees farenheit. Cook the pasta just shy of how you like it done. 02.) In the mean time, mix the tuna. soup, sour cream, vinegar and peas in a large bowl. 03.) Drain pasta and add to the soup mixture. 04.) Pour into a Pammed casserole dish and sprinkle the chips over it while crushing them slightly. 05.) Cook in the oven for twenty minutes or so. Chips should be slighty browned, but beware of burning. 06.)Enjoy!
