Ok, this may be a really dumb question, but I am somewhat new to Season 8. I just finished reading wolves at the gate and I can't help but wonder...does Dracula have a soul? Some of his actions seem to merit having one. Of course he comes across as evil, but he was evil when he was a human. Please any help on this would be great....

No indication that Dracula has a soul. Which of his actions indicate that he has one? While he is arguably less "evil" in the arc, one can draw the parallel to Spike pre-soul. While arguably still evil, Spike did indeed become the poster child for the "no soul doesn't necessarily mean evil" camp in S5 and S6. Some people of course would argue that Spike's good deeds were ultimately self-serving, and the same can be said for Dracula here.

Dracula's definitly evil. The only thing that seemed nice about him, was that he was friendly to Xander(but he brainwashed Xander before, not caring about what Xander really wanted, just caring about his own wishes, which is evil) and that he helped kill the Tokyo vamps, which he did because they pissed him off.
But since he seems to have been a bad man when he was alive, who knows? Nothing indicates it, like Wenxina said, but it's something to think about.
The ordinary rules for vampire doesn't seem to apply to Dracula.
