Mind you, I don,t want to criticize anobody's judgment, I simply meant that I, for one, learned to never citicize an artist work unless I can find someone who can do better in the same conditions. For example, I can criticize Rob Liefeld's art all day without remorse because I have seen much better artist doing the same characters in the same condition. But you live in a free country (I hope), so you have all the right to criticize.
As for Jeanty, I never had a problem with him. I don't expect Jeanty's work to be photorealistic: I'm happy when there is a panel where I find that the likeness is spot on.

The latest solicitation copy for the TPB:Nothing really new in the main text, but note that it's now 168 pages instead of 144, and the date is now March 3 instead of March 1. The extra 24 pages made me think they might be including #31 in this collection, but the copy still says 26-30.

Maybe that Tales one-shot is in there?
EDIT: Oooh, or maybe the Willow one-shot.

The Willow one shot would totally makes sense. But maybe it's some more webcomics? Yo have the Jo Chen one, the Harmony with Stephen Colbert one, and I,m sure there is more on the way...

The 5 issues of the "Retreat" arc add up to 110 pages. Add an extra few pages for front matter, cover gallery, etc., and 144 pages would be about right. The two webcomics are a total of... six pages, I think? So at 168 pages, there would be room for the 5 issues, the webcomics, the extras, and still be room for an additional issue.
I suspect the Willow one-shot may be in there.

"... not everyone sees the advantage of being magicless, namely, Willow, Giles, and Andrew. And they could be right."
I remember Willow's objection to giving up their power or "redirecting" the magicks quite clearly, did I miss Giles and Andrew's protests? I don't remember a peep from either character, unless that happens after the fact in issue #30, in which case, it's a little late...

Seems like it was Willow, Satsu and Kennedy who were the most vocal in their opposition. I don't remember Giles or Andrew really expressing an opinion.

I tend to read solicits with a bag of salt since I think they occasionally try to oversell the issue, which then leads to much unneeded disappointment.

In retrospect, this cover doesn't really fit the arc we read at all. Should have been more war-like.

Thematically, it did fit in with the earlier half of the arc. Buffy was retreating... it was only when she was cornered, with no magic to help them escape again, that she decided that they would really need to go to war.

A reminder for everyone that the "Retreat" TPB arrives in comic shops tomorrow. Should be in regular bookstores and on Amazon 1-2 weeks later.

Okay, I bought my copy of the Retreat TPB last night along with my copy of S8 #33.
There are some corrections that I noticed right away. 1) The line in #27 where Bay originally said she made Monroe a martyr was changed to something like "He survived, but it caused a rift between our groups" 2) The panel where Willow is captured in #30 is recolored to portray an entirely different person.
And here's what the TPB contains:
1st cover is Georges' #29 Then the Issues #25-30 with the Jo Chen covers as the chapter marks Then Georges' covers to #26-28 and #30 with concept sketch artwork Then MDHP short "Harmony comes to the Nation" And lastly MDHP short "Always Darkest"

Thanks for the rundown on the contents. Much appreciated, I'm sure, by people who are thinking of picking this up. Or even folks that are wondering if the MDHP shorts were being collected in this volume.

Did they add the Twilight symbol to Riley's chest in the scene of him lying on the floor talking to Buffy?
