I heard that there is another repackaging in Fox's dvds. Is it true? I know that WB is now releasing every new stuff on a single cool and thiner keepcase (like most of tv shows' blu-rays), and I heard that Fox is doing that too with, including Buffy and Angel. I found this picture of region's 1 24 season 7 dvd, and seems like this is the new package (The pic is from ebay UK, but the dvd is region 1 as told by the seller). The WB one is better, but that one seems fine too (not the best nor prettiest kind of package, but looks good enough). Does anyone have the Buffy or Angel's release in the new keepcase?? Can you please please post some picture of the inside of it??

My friend in Canada just bought some Buffy DVDs, they're similar. Here's a couple of pics: And she's comparing the new box to her old boxset here...

There so cool. I want those ones, they can fit into DVD holders just like your movies. Although I am not going to go out and rebuy the entire series because it has new packaging

Are the Canadian releases always identical to the american ones, in terms of package?? This one looks even thinner than the 24 one, which makes me think it breaks some laws of physics, so it can put 6 dvds in there! But this one is better than the 24 package, 'cause there are no discs on top of each other. This bugs me a little. Midnight Butterfly, the previous american packaging looks like this:

I really loved the original packaging for the B+A DVDs. Those book like ones were so classy.

The UK packaging is completely different. I can seem to find a picture of the open box though.

Midnight Butterfly, the previous american packaging looks like this: i hate that type of packaging, it just seems so pointless the UK packaging is more like the new released Canada packaging, except not as slim

It used to be like that in the UK also. The newer ones came into the UK in 2007 and are far better. Yep, just like the new canada ones but twice the width. Black covers not clear and less tacky looking. I actually think we have the best covers.

The case is so thin that I can't help thinking that the holders are not safe for the discs. Buffy new ones are probably the same as the 24 one I posted, 'cause when Fox adopts a package model, it's usually the same for every show. And the fact that it's a clear case (and will probably have an inside art) cheers me up I just wish some American here show us pictures of the new box...

i for one loved the original packaging, with the pictures and everything. unfortuatly though, i only have one fold out version (which is season 4) and the rest are second editions. but the cool thing is ive seen them at walmart and target for only $14.00, and double packed angel S1 & S2 or Buffy S1 & S2 for only $20.00!

I am actually not a fan of the big fold out packaging because for my Season's 3, 6 and 7 some of the discs come loose from the holder and get scratched! They came that way, and the little ring that the cd latches onto isn't broken at all, they discs just get free somehow. Really bugs me.

They came that way, and the little ring that the cd latches onto isn't broken at all, they discs just get free somehow. Really bugs me. ROFL I know what you mean. For me it was every other season box set that came that way. So everything was fine for season one, and two, but then three was stupid, then four and five were good, and then six sucked. That's how my Heroes season two is. I think the best one was Buffy season two, where you actually had to PUSH down to release the disc. I really liked the first set of slim packaging, that's how I was able to get all of my Angel seasons. I only had 1, 4, and 5 in the big fold out packaging and I bought the rest in slim packaging. The big fold outs are nice but they do take up quite a bit of space.. I've got limited space on my dvd shelves dammnit! haha. P.S. Is it strange that I still get kind of giddy when I see the Buffy/Angel dvd's in stores and in sale ads?

I found it! So, the american keepcase repackaging of Fox shows is just like the Canadian version. It's prettier, actually, 'cause it has episode summaries on the inside. And THANK GODESS it's not like the 24 package! I can live with the "one disc on top of another", but it's a little bit of a pain. Just like the digipack unfolding old boxes were kind of a pain to handle (they're pretty to look, not really good to handle). The slim cases and the new single-keepase package are the two best options in terms of tv-on-dvd package out there, 'cause they're safe for the discs, they're pretty, they're not too heavy on plastic and they're really nice and easy to use. I had some digiacks before, including some X-Files, and at first we're all about "oh, it's so pretty", but then time goes by and you don't notice how pretty it is anymore. You just notice how difficult it is to unold it so you can get to the dvds. I'm a graphic designer, but a package is not a folder. It's a package! it's job is to be safe and easy to use, and THEN be pretty. That's my opinion as a designer and as a collector. I don't HATE digipacks. I can live with them, but they're not "my type". My Buffy collection will probably be mixed with slim boxes and the single-keepcase kind. That's ok, I love both. On the shelf they look good too. Looks just like those tv shows' Blu-Rays (like Supernatural) which comes in a single thin blue case.

I see the new ones everywhere. I really dislike them though. The originals look much better, IMO. The slim ones make it seems... Idk, less 'Boxset-ish' to me. I'm mad that Dollhouse season one looks like a regular DVD case, as well.

Except for Season one, I got all the season in the new canadian packaging (20$ each, that's a cool sale). The only thing I hate about them is that there is no episode list, so I don,t know what episode there is on each disk unless I know the number (which I don't) It can be kind a pain sometimes.

YAYY!! My Angel season 1 arrived yesterday (It took a month. painful waiting, but unbelieveble price - 7 bucks from ebay, and it's factory sealed), and it's in the new packaging. I REALLY loved it!!!! It's like the canadian version, but it has episode list and all that (like the pictures I posted). Oh, and the disc holders are really good, they don't look like they'll break or anything, and they are really safe for the discs too. It also saves a huge space on the shelf, and still looks pretty good. It feels like a blu-ray season box, 'cause they're coming really thin. The only thing that I missed was a booklet, but that's fine. I'm really happy with the new packaging.

i'd love these slim cases a lot more if they had a cardboard slip cover thingy aswell that makes them stand out more from the movie cases, like Dollhouse Season 1 does
