Characters that really annoy you?

Was there anybody on Buffy who you just found really grating?

For me, it was most of the Potentials in Season 7. Pretty much all of them except for Kennedy. I know they were exhibiting perfectly normal reactions for teenagers who were snatched away from their normal lives and shoved into all these potentially lethal situations, but I just kept wanting to yell "Stop sniveling already!"

I am pretty sure that this topic has been done before with the larger percent of the answers being Dawn and the potentials... Angel always annoyed me... so did Dawn... early Cordilia and even Anya annoyed me at first... now I love Anya she is one of my Favs...

Angel, when he was in BtVS. He'd just randomly pop up, offer some not-so-helpful cryptic advice, and more often than not, just disappear without staying around to help any further. Plus the angsty-I-only-have-one-pained-expression thing got really old really quick.

But once he moved to his own show, he seemed to grow a personality.

Every time Xander complained about Buffy dating Angel. Or Angel existing. He's such a hypocrite, since he himself knows what it's like to be possessed by a demon (The Pack) and doing things you don't want to do(almost raping Buffy) and he himself dated a ex-murderer(Anya).

Andrew and Jonathan in season 6. They were so in denial of how far they had gone. They just wanted to be cool, be "evil" without even realizing what they were doing, what kind of real evil they were doing. Freezing people(which can be deadly), almost killing Buffy, almost raping Katrina, and the list goes on.

Andrew in season 7 & 8. Get out of denial land.

Dawn in early season 5. Gah! Reminds me of my battles with my kid sis when we were small.

Cordelia. Need I say more?

Rhona - She was just so miserable and negative, I wish she had died in 'Chosen'

Kennedy - Loved her in 'Killer in Me' but the love died when she'd be a bratt and then when she started on Buffy. And then her remarks towards Buffy in season 8 grrr

Forrest - He was just an @ss. He had ZERO likeable qualities for me

Maggie - The Evil Bitch Monster of Death.. need I say more?

Veruca - She was there to be hated and break up Willow and Oz. The fact she had no remorse towards Willow makes me glad odd chewed her throat out

WARREN - He tops the list. If I could say some very strong words on here I would. Vile just vile. He's so pathetic. I was so glad to see him skinned

Amy - I loved her in season 1 - 3 then season 6 ruined her for me. And also 'Killer in Me'

Molly (perfectly nice, but her accent was annoying).
Rona (pretty self-explanatory, I think. Horrible attitude)!
Willow in part of S5 and 6, slightly in S8 (As much as I love her, I hate her cocky arrogance at times).
Veruca.
Harmony (though she is funny)
Kathy (the room-mate from hell).
Parker (Such an ass).
Forrest (ditto for Forrest).
Connor (hated S3, S4 Connor. Didn't like him until he came back in S5. Oh, and baby Connor in early S3. )


I'm sure I will think of more later, but as of now my mind is drawing a blank...

Ah so many, Dawn from S5-6, but I started to warm up to her in S7. And a lot of the same characters that people have already mentioned-- Veruca, Kathy, Parker, Riley, Warren...

The Buffyverse is one of the only stories where I love almost every single character (and considering how many characters there are, and how nit-picky I am that's saying a lot). But a few just irk me beyond relief.

Kennedy- Well, anyone who hates Kennedy will understand
S4 Tara- I wanted to slap her. She was so annoying! It was like she was replacing S1-2 Willow but did a horrible job. And and she needs to do something with that hair. Just...no.
Early S5 Dawn- So whiny. And she talked too much.
Spike (in the LMPTM episode only)- He was just an unbelievably huge jerk in this episode. You can't apologize to the man who's mother you killed...and you have a soul now? What...the...hell?
Late S4 Connor- get over it! That's life! That doesn't mean you can just go blowing people up. Sheesh.

It's interesting ... although S4 Tara doesn't annoy me, per se, I'm watching S4 for the second time now and finding myself thinking "This is Tara? Really?" I guess that shows just how much her character grew over the course of three seasons. (And makes "Under Your Spell" that much more poignant.)

I agree. In S5 and 6 I love her, but S4 Tara...I'd rather just forget. Oh! And I forgot to add Angel S3 and 4 Cordy to the list. And she annoys me most of all! Girlinquestion does not like when wonderful dynamic cahracters turn into Mary Sues.

The person whos the most annoying for me is Willow Season 7 - 8 (Up to Time of Your Life so far). She just bugs me so much!

When I found out she is a dark witch AGAIN, I was just kinda done with her character. I lost patience with her. I know that its not technically her fault but its still irritating.

I felt that Cordelia in BTVS season 3 was annoying with her bitchiness, but after watching Buffy and Angel completely, I loved her bitchiness. Connor was annoying in season 4 with his constant moaning, but I loved how he had changed in season 5 and loved him in ATF. Uh, let's see, who else? Rona, Kennedy, Potential Eve, the complaining Potentials, uh, yeah, that's all so far
