What do you guys think about this? i09 is making a thing out of what Joss said about Dollhouse at the Dr. Horrible event in NYC last night. side note: they sort of misquoted our recap a little bit in their article (which is here io9.com/5365086/whedon-fox-ripped-out-dollhouses-core-concept ). Their rendition of the Joss quote: Every episode [of the first season] is ridiculously hard, because the central core has been ripped out just enough, that we're constantly dancing around our own premise. They added the [of the first season] part to our quote. In actuality, this is Joss's quote verbatim: "Every episode is RIDICULOUSLY hard in a way that it wasn't with the other shows because what was to be the sort of central core, has been ripped out just enough so that we're constantly dancing around our own premise." I felt he was talking in the present tense. Was anyone else there who felt the same way? Either way, I find the statement very telling. I'm wondering how this thinking is going to affecting season 2 exactly. I'm more interested in watching this season to see how he's going to jump this hurdle and make changes, rather than just watching to be entertained.

"Every episode is RIDICULOUSLY hard in a way that it wasn't with the other shows because what was to be the sort of central core, has been ripped out just enough so that we're constantly dancing around our own premise." I felt he was talking in the present tense. Was anyone else there who felt the same way? He was using the present tense. That was misquoted. I wonder what was to be the core concept of the show, why it was ripped out "just enough," how they will be dancing around it, and how that will effect the quality of the show/ audience viewership.
