Which other characters should have bodyswapped?

Just reviewing Who are you? on the Buffytube section of this forum (please have a look, don't get as many replies as I'd like to as I'm not allowed to post reviews on the main board), I was wondering, what other characters would you have like to have swapped bodies?

I know she doesn't exist yet but Buffy/Dawn would have been great, let little sis learn how being the Slayer isn't all fun and games. But my favourite choice would have been Willow/Xander which would have been mucho confusing (and maybe a little bit sexy?) for Tara and Anya?

Angel and Spike seems like the most obvious, and I'm surprised it didn't happen. I suppose we're getting a weird variation of that idea with Boys and Their Toys though.

Angel/Xander and Spike/Andrew would've been great fun too, if only to see the big bad vampires acting like dorks. Oh, and Angel/Lorne! ;D Any excuse to have Boreanaz camp it up.

I agree for the Willow/Xander swap. It calls for awkward, sexy times! And the boy/girl bodyswop is always more entertaining than the same sex body swap.

Or to be really awkward, post-Buffy Angel/Buffy swap! I wonder how Buffy would feel about the weird sexual tension between Cordy and Angel, especially while in the body of Angel! o.0 It also be fun to see how Angel reacts to Spike while in Buffy's body.

Angel and Spike definitely. Dawn and anyone else. Xander and Giles with Spike. It frustrates me so often the way Spike is like the redheaded stepchild of both shows. I love Spike and I think he's so grossly misunderstood by most of the characters. At least with Angel, I think he understands and to some extent even gains respect for Spike, but he just reminds him too much of himself. Angel seems to harbor resentments toward Spike and Lindsay that I think are based on his hatred of his own self. Both of them deserve more respect than he gives them, for the things they actually SHARE with Angel, but I don't think he'll ever see it that way.

I'd think I'd want Willow and Tara to do a body swap. Why? Because it just sounds like fun.

It would be hilarious if Giles and Buffy did a body swap too! Buffy would complain SO much about being old.

Hmmm...I definitely would've like to see Spike and Angel switch bodies...just the way everyone on both shows views each of them is so opposite, but I think Spike would've tried to end it if he was stuck in Angel's body. Perhaps someone switching with Buffy? One of the Scoobies? It would've been interesting to see Xander switch with someone who had power, to see how he would've reacted.

Wouldn't that imply that the power goes with the body, rather than with the mind and the soul?

I guess we've never seen any real evidence either way, since Buffy and Faith have essentially the same powers. But I would imagine that if, say, Willow and Xander switched places, Willow's powers would stay with her, even in Xander's body.

pretty much any character switch that would be really amusing! Like Buffy/Anya..Since Anya is so honest about everything and after the gift Buffy becomes secretive about what happened after her death.

I agree with Angel and Spike swapping, that seems like an obvious choice. As much as the two bickered with each other during S5 of Angel, it would be hilarious to have them trapped in each others bodies.

True, true. I guess that it's always a combo with Buffy, with her strong physical power combined with her mental determination and such. I would think that Willow's powers would stay with her, regardless, because I tend to think of them as a more mental thing, as opposed to Buffy's brute force.

Still all debatable, I say.

Even Buffy's Slayer strength, while seemingly an entirely physical attribute, might not be tied to her body.

Consider this -- even though she's preternaturally strong, she doesn't have the physique of a bodybuilder. (If she did, she wouldn't be nearly as fast or as flexible.) She's fit and toned, but doesn't have a huge amount of muscle mass. So it's possible that her Slayer strength doesn't come from her body being physically altered in any way, but rather from a supernatural source. In that case, it might go along with her mind and soul, even in a different body.

I believe the soul would stay with Angel, just the way it stayed with him when he switched bodies with that old man in AtS Season 3. It's a part of his essential self that goes with his identity when removed from his body.
