This episode is terrific. The battle scene expresses their emotions. Truly epic and sensational.
I just founded out a remarkable unnotice thing on the gift , when Tara calling Giles a killer and Giles fulfill that prophecy by clinically smothering Ben. Also i love when Buffy pushed the Doc ,uninterestingly from the platform. The special thing from this episode from my personal opinion is her death, it was very clever to make out Buffy more of champion what she was anyway, she sacrifice her self willingly to save the world and her beloved sister , that always makes my emotion go wild with sadness. Remarkable to show Buffy unique leadership and her abilities.
Whats your thougths.

I love this episode. On of my favourite TV moments ever.
It took me a few times to notice Tara calling him a killer also. I don't think may people would have guessed that 'Death is your gift' meant Buffys gift to the world is dying. EPIC
Really like the use of Buffybot in this episode, they completely fool Glory.

Especially that scene was awesome. When the Buffy bot fooled Glory it even fooled me when i first watched it . And then the proper Buffy said this. " You're not the brightest god in the heavens, are you?" Classic lol.

That episode is both terribly beautiful and terribly sad. I did notice that Tara called Giles a killer and he turned out to be one. I also love what he says when he does it.
BEN: . She could've killed me. GILES: No she couldn't. Never. And sooner or later Glory will re-emerge, and ... make Buffy pay for that mercy. And the world with her. Buffy even knows that... and still she couldn't take a human life. She's a hero, you see. She's not like us.
To me there are two kinds of heroes, those who always do the right thing even when it hurts them and those who do what must be done but no one else can do. That's one thing I love about Buffy and Angel as shows, there are gray areas. Nothing is black and white. Joss Whedon deals with hard questions.

That's one thing I love about Buffy. As much as we would all have loved for her to have more of an "ends justify the means" attitude; she never took it to that level. She was always trying to preserve that humanity within her, that she wasn't like the monsters she was fighting.

The Gift is an amazing episode!
One of my fave moments is when Buffy is in the alley fighting the vamp and the boy says, "how did you do that? You're just a girl." And Buffy says, "that's what I keep saying." Love that whole scene. Such a powerful moment!

Most heros are depicted as they can not kill their enemys... That is part of what makes them "Human" That is also why so many people love the "hero" that can and does kill such as Dexter *the serial killer who only kills killers from showtime*

Do you think that part of Giles' withdrawal in season 6 is reprecussions from his killing Ben and dealing with "post murder of a human incarnation of a demi-god" issues?

Do you think that part of Giles' withdrawal in season 6 is reprecussions from his killing Ben and dealing with "post murder of a human incarnation of a demi-god" issues? I don't think so. He did what he thought was necessary and I believe he can live with that deed quite well. That's so interesting about this moral dilemma. The true hero/ine will not become guilty of such a deed, and this may lead to loads of more suffering. Moral purity may be a dangerous thing. Giles went for the morally messy road, saving lives, taking on him a huge load of guilt that can be lived with by reference to utilitarian reasoning: I did it because somebody had to in order to stop further suffering. Scary.
