I love Anya, she's strong and hilarious and beautiful and so vulnerable. I love the fact that she says whatever is on her mind and it's so often true. lol She's really quite the philosopher sometimes.
My favorite moment I think is when she comes back for Xander in Graduation Day. She can't help or deny that she loves him and she's terribly vulnerable.
I also love it when she's gone back to being a demon because of Xander but she is able to be good again anyway. That shows a lot of strength and conviction on her part.

Yay! Anya!!!! She is awesome!   Her speech in "The Body" was definitely one of my favorites and made me cry like a baby. I loved whenever she spoke her mind even if it was an awkward moment to say something or when she turns it into a awkward moment but it makes you love her more because she genuinely means it. Willow: Yeah, I-I know, but ... it's a whole night. I don't think I can sleep without her. Anya: You can sleep with me. ( Everyone looks at her) Well, now that came out a lot more lesbian than it sounded in my head. |

Love, love, love Anya! Definitely one of my fave characters! I do hope that she makes some sort of appearance in season 8 (or season 9). One of my fave Anya moments is in End of Days when she and Andrew go to get supplies from the hospital and she talks about staying to fight with the rest of humanity. I really appreciate this moment from Anya and think it shows just how much she had grown in her short time as human. My all time fave Anya ep is definitely Selfless, without a doubt. Also, The Wish because it was her first episode. And Triangle, she and Willow together are just comedy gold in this ep! Bunny Anya in Fear Itself is also a personal fave of mine. One of my fave Anya quotes: "I'm bad, baddy bad bad bad, does it make you horny?" This is so Anya. lol. What I like most about Anya is her bluntness and ability to speak her mind. She is very opinionated and makes no apologies for the world as she sees it. This makes her a very unique and lovable character. lol. |

She went from a demon who was sick of humans and wanted to be rid of all of them, to a woman who fell in love with the human Spirit and sacrificed her life to save them all. I would figure that as far as prejudices is concerned, Anya is the one that has changed the most over the series.  |

While not quite a fave of mine, she's definitely something special, and a worthy replacement for Cordelia (which is high-praise coming from me). I think I like her most in S4 when she's really raw with her outbursts and yet to understand very much. Her nonchalance at the horrible things she sees is hilarious (like her reaction to the bloody slides in "Hush"), while her proposition to Xander never fails to make me laugh out loud: "Sexual intercourse. I've said it, like, a dozen times."
Her relationship with Xander is one of the sweetest on the show (along with all the others) and is the only one that seems like it really shouldn't have ended when it did, but was an example of weak writing instead.

Her speech in The Body is another great one. And I also love her, "What if I'm really nobody?" to Xander in Selfless. Amazing that an originally one shot character, came such a long way in the series in terms of development, and grew to be one of the most beloved of the series. GO ANYA! |

This is my first reply, don't know why....but i will tell you that given the opp to glow about my favorite X-Demon I simply could not remain silent.
I want to start with my favorite scene from The Body. To me this is Anya in her truest form...candid, misunderstood and simply lovely.
Anya: Are they gonna cut the body open?
Willow: Oh my God! Would you just... stop talking? Just... shut your mouth! Please!
Anya: What am I doing?
Willow: How can you act like that?
Anya: Am I supposed to be changing my clothes a lot? Is that the helpful thing to do?
Xander: Guys—
Willow: The way you behave—
Anya: Nobody will tell me.
Willow: Because it's not okay for you to be asking these things!
Anya (crying): But I don't understand! I don't understand how this all happens. How we go through this. I mean, I knew her, and then she's, there's just a body, and I don't understand why she just can't get back in it and not be dead anymore! It's stupid! It's mortal and stupid! And, and Xander's crying and not talking, and, and I was having fruit punch, and I thought, well Joyce will never have any more fruit punch, ever, and she'll never have eggs, or yawn or brush her hair, not ever, and no one will explain to me why. (She puts her hand over her face, crying.)
Willow (after a long pause): We don't know... how it works.
...and scene. I cry every time. EVERY TIME! Like just then. "and she'll never have eggs, or yawn or brush her hair, not ever..." ACK! Just reading it gets me all choked up.
I realize this is part writing Joss Whedon and alot part the amazing Emma Caulfield. JUST brilliant TV.
So pretty much Anya is my absolute Buffy fave and I could quote for days...but, I won't.
Fav episode? Season 7 Selfless. Hands down. Trolls, bunnies, flashbacks and an amazing song from Anya "lame-ass-made-up-maiden-name" Harris.
Fav quote? Mostly cuz of her spot on delivery....from "Once More With Feeling"
"Dawn : I gave birth to a Pterodactyl.
Anya : Oh my god! Did it sing?"

Anya is definitely one of the best characters of the series, and one of the most under appreciated by the other characters. She had some of the funniest, and some of the most moving lines. What she said in The Body makes me tear up, and thinking of her dying at the end of the show, makes me cry every time. I feel like it would take away from her death, if she was in season 8 or 9 at all. Unless it was a flashback of something we never saw on the show or something. But they can't keep bringing everyone back from the dead. And aside from being funny, honest, and just wonderful she doesn't really have a place in the series now. Which, of course, sucks. Emma Caulfield is beautiful.

I simply love Anya by far my favorite character joint with cordy I just love her so much. Her speech in the body was great and I loved her bitchy side I hope she appears in season 8! |

I like Anya. She's probably one of the charactrs I cared for the least, but I still liked her. She was hella funny. And Emma Caulfield is be such a cutey and looks great in person.

[/li][li] What do you like most about Anya? - Just the way she acts and sees the word. Its funny and on some level I relate. She ask those questions that people don't know the answer to or people shouldn't ask and I like it.
[/li][li] Do you hope for a Season 8 mention or appearance? Honestly as much as I adore her character I think she should stay wherever she's at whatever that may be. Hopefully resting in peace.
BTW - Who voted that they didn't like her. I mean she not in my top 5 or anything, but that's only because I love other character a little bit more. Besides Anya's too adorable not to like.

Just re-watched OMWF and Anya's dancing is just so awesome! You can tell the way she articulates every move (can you tell I'm a theatre freak? lol) in her "I'll Never Tell" song. It just makes me smile to see that. OH! And "Mrs." is my new favorite song of OMWF, even though its not technically one of the songs. WELL I DON'T CARE! It's still awesome to me!!!

? The only way to make that ok is if Xander has been secretly figuring out how to bring her back from the dead and is just using Dawn ... which would be totally ok with me. Plus they don't really have that harsh funny character in season 8 like they always did, first with Cordy then with Anya. I think thats where the season is seriously lacking.
