The Good;
All the Spike/Buffy stuff and some nice scenes with Xander and a potential love interest (maybe she wasn't demony enough for him?). Also love Dawn threatening Spike
The Bad;
More dead potentials, ugh! Stupid looking worm, I expected something more Tremors. Also it attacks Nancy in her house but then just goes away? The mad Spike and Buffy scene at the end goes on too long.
Best line;
Spike; "When did your little sister become unbelievably scary?"

The little look Spike and Xander give each other when Nancy wonders if any Scoobies haven't slept with one another. Once again virginal Dawn is threatened by a huge phallic symbol. Anya calls her latest dupe 'Honey'.

Questions and observations;
Lovely moment with Xander and Buffy in the car when he tells her the SDH kids are lucky to have her. The worm rather reminds me of an old horror film call 'Blood Beach'. Spike has his old hair back, he gradually resembles himself more and more over the season. Love Buffy's Daisy Duke line "Where I go to get my scorn on!" Always thought Nancy was the same girl who was a White-hat in The Wish but she wasn't. Nice pun on 'Beneath You', remember 'Fool for Love'. Spike assumes the same Christ-like pose he showed us in Restless.

This is actually one of my favorite underated episodes of season seven. It sucks that Willow is stil gone, but good to know she's on her way back. Loved all the group scenes especially at The Bronze. And it still breaks my heart watching the ending of this episode. Spike and the look on Buffy's face gets me everytime. 10/10

I'm also a fan of this episode. While the worm is kinda lame, it really isn't an important aspect of the episode. Spike is superb throughout, from his pretense at still being soulless to his reaction to impaling the worm-guy to the breathtaking final scene with Buffy. This is one of the best pieces of acting in the whole series for me. James Marsters depicts his confusion and pain beautifully, while SMG has the confidance for a quiet, patient reaction.

This is quite possibly my favorite episode. The church scene is absolutly amazing and James Marsters was phenominal. He was so into what he was doing and I have never seen a better performance from anyone.

I crack up every time I see that look between Xander and Spike when Nancy asks "Has anyone here NOT slept together?"

I also like how Anya can see Spike's soul and tries to get him to tell her how he got it and he gets all defensive and upset to keep it from Buffy. I don't know why, but I've always liked that bit.

The only thing in this episode I dispised was Anya's dress.

Remind me what Anya was wearing again? Yes the crypt scene was epic, interesting when you think of Spike assuming the Christ pose in the crypt in Restless? As for Spike and Xander's little look, remember they both shared Xanders basement and his flat, Xander describing himself as 'Very bitable, moist and delicious' and Spike was even in the closet for a little while? Spander? I'm sure there's a fanfic out there somewhere

I'm afraid that this is one of my least favourite episodes. I know Spike's monologues are all meaningful and deep, but he is mostly getting on my nerves. And I don't like the plot with that worm monster.

question; i was commenting on another thread about how the planned Faith spin-off was to feature Spike as a ghost (initially). His recurring role on Angel 5 was because that show fell though.

Ok, so actually looking at Angel 5 - one of the odd episodes is 'Why We Fight' with Spike guest appearing on the sub in 1945.

So... is this why, in Beneath You, he says the line about 'The sodding engine' ?
because had he had been in FTVS being set in the past would have allowed a crossover into Angel 5.

does anyone know?

ps; 'Bite me Harris' gets my vote for best line this ep - at least in delivery.
