I bet that person is worrying whether or not that comic he is holding is canon or not.

I find it interesting that Angel is smiling, I was getting the impression he would hate the attention. Plus only just noticed the guy wearing a Spike mask/hair.

Love the action figure concept, lol. I think I'll get the Runge cover, but his Angel is a bit deformed lol

I bet that person is worrying whether or not that comic he is holding is canon or not. Easy enough in his case. All he has to do is say "Angel! Dude, did this really happen?"

Finally! A good panel report from IDW's Angel panel at Comic-Con: SourceThese issues sound like a lot of fun. Angel's very own "Halloween" episode. Spike acting like Angel is going to be aces.

Sounds great! It will be cool to get a couple comedic issues after all the heartbreak and drama.

Sounds great. Shadow Puppets was a great comic story, hope this is of a similar quality.

Looks like the story is titled "Boys and Their Toys"! Here's the solicitation info (from tfaw.com): 'Boys and Their Toys,' Part 1 of 2: Somebody has made a movie based on Angel's adventures in hell! Angel and Spike go to a comic con to see how badly Hollywood has mangled true events, only to find themselves surrounded by supernatural evil at every turn. Can Angel tell the difference between an evil demon and a 14-year-old fanboy dressed as an evil demon? Is there a difference? The Angel: After the Fall team of Brian Lynch and Stephen Mooney throw Angel and Spike into an all-new hell!
32 pages, $3.99

I think I will overall enjoy these stories. But has anybody else lost faith in the true nature of Angel? I loved it because of how dark it was. How we journeyed through every single change of Angel from Angelus in the past to him now fighting to become human. I think these stories are very cool, but very unrealistic. I am not trying to bash this and make people hate me, because I don't want that, all I'm trying to say is ... does anybody else feel like the main story, "A vampire with a soul fighting for his redemption" has tipped just a bit. P.S// Love the covers. I love Mooney's artworks from previous things, and wish him the best with this issue

The show had episodes like; 'Sense & Sensibility', 'Smile Time', 'Spin the Bottle', 'Life of a Party' or what to think about Pylea? Two funny issues in the middle of issues full of doom, problems and tears are pretty much how Ats always was. I love that we get some short pause with a light story to continue with all the problems there are after it.

I know. And I agree with you. But "A movie being made about Angel" is just too far from the reality. And I know, we've been watching a show about vampires and demons, and souless beasts, etc, how realistic can you expect it to be, but you have to admit, this two-part story seems a bit too much.

Angel is famous, everybody who lives in LA -The place is full of producers and writers- was in hell and saw (or heard about) Angel saving them. Not that weird that they make a movie of it, people also want to make a movie about Susan Boyle. In a world where Angel can be changed in a puppet, where trees can surf on the internet and fight, where Harmony is a superstar and everybody adores vampires ... a movie about Angel can be made.

It's interesting that the Angel series has a vampire who's become a media darling (Angel) and the Buffy series also has one (Harmony).
It would be cool if Angel's role in Buffy season 8 was to use his celebrity to counteract the effects of Harmony's anti-Slayer message... depending on what the status of his fame is by the time season 8 takes place.

It seems kinda weird that Buffy hasn't heard about Angel's movie. You'd think "that other famous vampire" would've been mentioned in passing at some point. It seems even more weird that Andrew hasn't mentioned it, you'd think he would be outraged at them making Spike a girl. I think I will overall enjoy these stories. Thanks. I think you've worded it better than me. LOL. That's pretty much what I meant, as in its just a fun, not so important story that (to me) doesn't feel true to the usual ANGEL STORIES

It seems kinda weird that Buffy hasn't heard about Angel's movie. You'd think "that other famous vampire" would've been mentioned in passing at some point. That's because Joss probably hadn't heard about Angel's movie until recently. But yeah... with Angel being famous at the end of AtF (months before the start of season 8) it's odd that nobody in Buffy's circle has mentioned it. I guess it all depends on what Joss has in mind for what happened to Angel (and his fame) between the two series. It's a pain to have the two comics franchises at two separate companies when they should be interacting to some degree. With Fox holding the rights to both, it's odd that nothing can be worked out for a true crossover. Is there some sort of bad blood between Dark Horse and IDW?

Call me cynical, but I don't think Joss cares much about the continuity between the Buffy and Angel comics. He never seemed to really care about After the Fall, he just made it happen for the fans and gave Brian some notes. Now that AtF is over, I bet he cares even less what's happening in the Angel comics, and whether it matches up to what's happening in S8. I'm not that bothered about us not getting a full-on crossover (since the two shows never crossed over all that much either) but I'm a little annoyed when there's obvious plot holes like this Angel celebrity thing. The same way it annoyed me when nobody in Sunnydale noticed there was a massive apocalypse happening in LA ( Angel season four) and wondered if Angel was okay or not.

This sounds crazy silly - love it! About time we got a all-out silly comedy 'episode' after the high drama of Atf and the Drusill issues

The Angel movie hype probably died out quickly, maybe quickly enough that Buffy's 8th season came some time after. It appears that Angel chose to shy away from the media soon after his big exposure, so it's not all that surprising that he's now out of the spotlight.
It is a shame that there's been no mention of Angel at all though. Joss approved of the ATF story so he at least knew that Angel would be well known after, movie or no.
