Oh. My. Holy. Shit.
That was the best preview I have ever read. I was dying the entire time.
And holy SHIT a Michael Bay appearance. This is going to be epicker than epic.
And I love that the canon-folks got a bit of the shaft. Damn. I haven't been this amped for a Buffyverse comic since I read #17 at Comic-Con.

If the other 17 pages of this are as funny as the 1st 5 pages....I am gonna be sore from laughter:) That was hilarious. Angel's face watching the movie - priceless! Likenesses are perfect.
Also if the Last Angel in Hell annual is as good as the preview we get in this...gonna be a riot:)
Also I love the McGuffin that brings Angel to the Con (the Flaming Sword). Been to long since Angel has been in the comic - back with a bang methinks:)

Ha, well you're the guy who gave new life to the heros that I have treasured since childhood (Angel, Wesley and Cordelia.)So more than happy to double up. But really this arc seems like something that the TV show would/could have pulled off .I'm also ecstatic that Stephen Mooney is back and I would love for him to do (a) "you're Welcome" comic ep.

Hilarious that the nerds are debating canonicity of a real-life (to them) story. How does that work, anyway?
"Mr. Fonebone, I'm afraid you have swine flu."
"That's okay. It's not canon."
It's also interesting that even the inhabitants of L.A. are starting to doubt whether Hell-A ever happened or not. Wow, they were there for, like... weeks? Months? That's quite a feat of denial. I wonder if Wolfram & Hart programmed a "gradual forgetting" app into their spell.

I'm kind of surprised I'm the first one to post! This issue was so much fun! That's really what I think this issue is all about. Not a ton of DEEP character development. This is a nice break from all the heaviness of ATF, #23, etc. The issued flowed nicely, there were a lot of good jokes, and we got to see Angel and Spike back together.
The only negative (is it even a negative?) is that the concept is much like the BTVS episode "Halloween", where everyone turns into their costumes. This issue also doesn't feel like it would necessary fit in to the TV series, but given that it is a comic book, it works well.

I've been excited, but sort of scratching my head, about these two issues. It sounded like it could be a complete crap-fest, or bloody brilliant. Luckily, it was mostly the latter.
There are multiple things to laugh at on every page, not just writing, but little things that are included in the art. There really isn't much to discuss story or character wise, because there is nothing "deep" about it, as jellymoff said. There was one nice AtF- follow up moment with Spike and what Angel told him in #17. The story and last page (which was brilliant) was already revealed, so there isn't anything shocking.
So if you love the Angel/Spike dynamic and want a laugh-riot, you will love this issue. Looking forward to the conclusion!
And demons dressed up as teddy bears FTW!

I think that was the idea Jellymoff. I mean I dont see it as a negative so much as spin on an old idea. In fact Angel was there so once he finds the Chaos head to stop it in the next issue he's gonna be like wait didnt this already happen? But I really really liked this issue. This is sort of like playing catch up to After the fall Epilogue the way it plays on events of after the fall and brings back some familiar faces. I cant wait till next moth. I Hope we dont have to wait more than a month for this like we did beteen the Drusilla issues.

This was a fantastic issue. It was hilarious from start to end and we got some great character moments between Spike and Angel as well. Not only was it great to see Angel (written by Brian) again, but Spike, Groo and JEREMY as well! That was certainly a nice surprise. Groo's line about the cutsies was absolutely hysterical, as were the demon's that got turned into cute teddy bears. I could list every thing that made me chuckle, but I'd list nearly every panel. I loved how Spike and Angel picked up right where they left off in #17, and I look forward to seeing how this all progresses in the next issue as they deal with Spike's...issue. I also love how gung ho Groo is about helping Angel, and it will be fun to see them work together more. Brian writes Groo so well, so I really hope there are plans for Groo and Spike to meet up in the new series. I really enjoyed Mooney's art, as always. The closeups of character faces are fantastic and it's always a treat to have him back on the main series. My only gripe was with his Jeremy, but mostly because it's always a little jarring to have an artist draw another artist's creation. #23-26 have all been highly enjoyable, that certainly bodes well for Brian's final two issues.

Has anyone who's read this yet ventured a guess at who the two antagonists are? or are we thinking random two off characters?

Fantastic issue. I'm gonna miss Bryan on Angel . Oh, Did the end of the issue remind anyone else of the Halloween episode from season 2 of Buffy?

It was supposed to, absolutely. It's an unofficial companion adventure to that episode, much like SHADOW PUPPETS is to SMILE TIME.
I'm so glad you guys dig it.

Now that Brian has made it clear that it is a companion piece, it makes even more sense. I knew he was too much of a Buffy fan to not have done it on purpose.
