Beautiful cover, I love the blue color. I only hope that they will fade the name 'Runge' a bit. It's a bit of an eyecatcher.
I love Gunn's clothes btw.

It's really cool that we have gotten four (almost five) Gunn centric covers from four different artists over the course of the series: Urru's #4 cover, Messina's #8 cover, and now a cover from Runge and Urru for #23. Could even count Garner's cover for #11 since it is just Gunn and Angel, front and center. It shows how important of a character he's become for the series.
Pretty neat.

Yeah, that's one thing I really loved about After the Fall and now this issue: Gunn finally gets to shine. Something that pretty much never happened in the five seasons he was on the show.

I think this issue is Gunn's finest hour. At least Gunn's finest Lynch-scribbled hour. That's one of the best things about comics that feature a supporting character for an issue. They truly get to shine. Gunn had some great moments here and there during ANGEL, but the only episode I can think of where he got to be at the center of it all once he'd joined the gang was in Players when he got his cool groove back a la James Bond when he helped out Gwen. It was also pretty awesome that he solved the Reign of Fire paper clues during Apocalypse, Nowish. I'm really looking forward to this one-shot. More Gunn, please. I'm sad to admit that I've gotten a bit disheartened with Aftermath and might be taking a break til this issue comes out. |

What I find odd is thinking that Gunn is actually the 3rd most prominant Angel character. His episode count is higher than Cordy's. He never got the spotlight too often, but that whole issue plays out nicely in Angel 5 and now ATF. I love Gunn.

Looks great, nice to see some Urru art again. Poor Gunn, those panels are brutal. So happy to see George, him being there is kind of sweet actually.
