Or, put another way: Even if you already own the DVDs, what additional extras might be enough to get you to buy a new release? Here are a few things I'd love to see: -- More commentaries. Especially with cast members. We do get a few on the current releases, but I'd love to hear some commentaries from, say, Anthony Stewart Head and Alyson Hannigan. -- Deleted scenes. Not outtakes, but scenes that were filmed and eventually cut for length. There's some pretty good dialogue in the scripts that never made it into the finished episodes. -- Audition footage. Especially of things like Sarah Michelle Gellar trying out for Cordelia ... it'd be interesting to see what that might have been like. Probably the best DVD package I've ever seen is the one for Freaks and Geeks, which has a minimum of one commentary per episode and sometimes two, several deleted scenes per disc, and even commentary on the deleted scenes. Anybody else?

So many great eps that DESPERATELY need commentaries. And lot's of missing footage that needs to be restored

While new commentaries would be very welcome, it seems pretty unlikely we're ever going to see them. After so long away from the show, how many cast/crew members are going to want to talk for 45 minutes over something they filmed years ago, especially if they have other projects currently ongoing?

At least one feature where we get to follow the making of a episode, from idea to script to fashion to make up for monsters design to filming, etc etc.

There are select few episodes that I was surprised didn't have commentary like The Gift, but I also wish the was something like they have on Lost DVD's where they follow a Actor and watch their day as they shoot scenes and get into make-up. More bloopers too. Basically behind the scene type of things.

I would love to see all new Buffy extra's on a blu-ray release But seriously, I agree with everything you said. More commentaries would be awesome, especially done by the actors. We got a taste of that in S7, but i wish they had been doing that all along. It would be nice to hear the perspective of actors like Tony, Alyson, and Sarah. To get their take on things would be cool. There are so many great eps that don't have commentary that I wish did! Deleted scenes would also be nice, we never got to see any of those! More outtakes! I enjoy the outtakes on the DVD's, but they just aren't long enough! Auditions would also be cool.

I would love to see more cast&crew discussions, like the special in the Chosen Collection set. I found it really interesting to just hear them talk about all the different aspects of the show and stuff. I was really disappointed when they didn't have a similar feature in the complete Angel collection.
For example, how neat would it be if they got a couple of crew members and than as many actors as possible that played villains. That would be an interesting discussion, I would love to hear their thoughts on episodes and overall plots and how it was on set etc. That would be interesting.

I agree with everyone else! More of EVERYTHING would be awesome!
I would love to see deleted scenes and more commentaries with the actors especially Alyson and Sarah....and the making of episodes like the "Once More With Feeling" behind the scenes footage was totally cool!

Especially the deleted lines of Giles telling Buffy that he killed Ben in "Lies My Parents Told Me". That's a scene I would give a lot of money just to see. I would love to see Buffy's reaction to it.

I'd love to see more of the deleted scenes--there has to be more than what we've seen. There's a lot of stuff that's just deleted for time, and they have to be laying around somewhere in a Hollywood storage room. I'd also like to see some of the daily footage, like the kinds that are on eBay once in a while. More commentaries would be nice as well, especially from a wider variety of people, especially some of the actors. I would love to hear their takes on important episodes that don't have commentary(The Gift, Passion, etc).
Auditions would be so darned cool...we'd be able to compare the actors to see how they did when they tried out, like comparing Smidge and Charisma, or Aly and Riff Reagan.

I can see the producers not wanting to show audition footage of people who weren't cast -- "Hey, everybody, look at who didn't make it!" -- but I think it'd be pretty cool to see the people who were cast playing other roles. Like SMG and Bianca Lawson as Cordelia; Charisma Carpenter, Elizabeth Anne Allen and Julie Benz as Buffy; Danny Strong as Xander; Nathan Fillion as Angel.

I was just watching some Buffy cast interviews on YouTube ... even if they didn't get anybody else, I'd love to hear some audio commentaries with Amber Benson, because she is funny.

Is it just me, or was there a surprising lack of Sarah Michelle Gellar in any of the featurettes or commentaries on the DVDs. I wonder why that is...

It would have been great if she had done some commentaries or something. I was really happy that she showed up at the Paley Fest Buffy reunion.

I've often heard of her wanting to distance herself from the series and anything to do with it, but desperately wanted to believe it wasn't true. Meh. Was there anything with her on the Paleyfest DVD?

Can I triple agree? I've often heard of her wanting to distance herself from the series and anything to do with it, but desperately wanted to believe it wasn't true. Meh. It wouldn't necessarily have to be anything like consciously wanting to distance herself from the show. I think inevitably, some people who work on a show will end up being more "into" it than others. Some would be fans of the show even if they hadn't worked on it; others, even though they might have fond memories of the show and be proud of the work everyone did on it, wouldn't be. So SMG could have nothing but good things to say about Buffy and her co-workers, while still not being as "into" it as, say, Michelle Trachtenberg, who was a fan of the show before she was cast on it, or Amber Benson, whose own post-Buffy work -- some of it, anyway -- falls into the same general genre as Buffy.

Definitely more commentaries, there just isn't enough. But I would love more footage from their interviews at Comic-Con and events like that like the one that was featured on the Season Six DVD.
