Well, I pick Spike over Giles as I don't really see Giles being so casual about making vampires cool in the world and making Slayers ostracized and hunted. And perhaps even more so killing dozens to hundreds of Slayers.
I mean, why would Giles make vampires cool? What incentive or motive would there be in that? Spike makes sense as we see that he's still a vampire in the Fray future. Or at least when there are flying cars. And Spike is the only vampire from the Buffyverse that we see still alive in the Frayverse. And lurks (vampires) are about the only demons still around in the Frayverse that were around in the Buffyverse.
As for FutureGiles, I don't really see how Giles somehow was in the future or why FutureGiles would be doing the things that Twilight is doing.
Everything so far has pointed to Spike, but it still could be somehow else. However, they'd really have to explain it being someone like Giles.

Jo's cover and solicitation added to the original post. I must say that Jo's totally losing me in terms of her proportions... Buffy's neck is way too long and thick here. Like really bad looking. Like something that shouldn't be a problem for someone as talented as Jo.
ETA: Hmm... the solicitation says that the Twilight reveal will be in #34, but from previous reports, #33 is the number. Perhaps it's a last panel deal, like the the FDW reveal in #17.

Yeah, I'm surprised at the reveal being in 34 too. I'm guessing his lifting of the mask will be a cliffhanger for 33. And what's up with Jo Chen and necks out of proportion? First Willow, now Buffy. Buffy's face is spot-on perfect, but her neck is crazy. Jo seems to like giving man-necks to the female characters. Irregardless of that nitpicking, I love the expression Jo's created for Buffy - beautiful. Okay, ready for fun speculation time? Jo Chen does incredibly realistic likenesses. So question: Who is Twilight based on Chen's depiction of his ear, cheekbone and jawline? Go! I don't think it's Spike - cheekbones are wrong.

Besides Buffy's brontosaurus neck, I think the likeness is one of Jo's best.
I doubt Jo was going for any kind of likeness with the side of Twilight's face, so I'm not gunna touch that one.

The Jo Chen cover is kind of weak, and I almost always like her art. The covers are about the same quality as the comic itself lately. Disappointing.

Check out Buffy's meathooks for hands too. I just can't get pass that neck at all... it's really grotesquely out of proportion. The face is good, but it isn't the best that Chen's done before... which is kinda my problem here... some of these covers are beginning to kinda look like Chen's phoning it in. She's amazingly talented, don't get me wrong... but anyone with basic art skills would look at that, and tell you that the neck was unnaturally elongated and enlarged.

Besides the crazy neck, I love the cover. Buffy's expression is amazing, and the background color, the green from Buffy's shirt and Twilight's brown really go well together.
Chen most likely just did "generic male face" so it is impossible to find any clues about who Twilight is.

I'm sorry! Twilight speculation makes my brain hurt! I can't handle something like: "Look at that ear! It's clearly Angel."

Besides Buffy's brontosaurus neck, I think the likeness is one of Jo's best. Erm... technically, Brontosaurus has been replaced by "Apatosaurus", since they're the same species, and Apatosaurus was discovered first. But look at that jawline! It's clearly Angel. Clearly it's Hank Summers... oh wait, I don't even remember what the man looks like any more. Oh well, I think it looks like Hank Summers.

I like the Chen cover, as I always do. As usual, the things being complained about seem utterly irrelevant to me. Just a different way of looking at art, I guess.
Whether he intended to or not, Joss has literally balanced the entire season on this Twilight reveal. Don't know if that was his intention, but with this endless hyping and milking and moving the goalposts (Buffy will confront him in #33... but he'll be unmasked in #34... and we'll see him in #35... or maybe #36...) if it turns out to be a disappointment, season 8 will be widely considered a failure. And that's too bad. It's been too good a story for so much emphasis to be placed on a guy whipping off a mask and going "A-HA! It is I!"
ETA: Also, according to this solicitation "Twilight" is down to 4 issues again, which directly contradicts the solicitation for #32 in the current issue of "Previews." I guess we'll know for sure when #36 comes out and we see whose name is on it.

I don't think it was really Joss' intention to build the entire S8 around the masked Big Bad, but that's just the way it turned out. And I agree that all this hype may just be detrimental to the reputation of the season, but meh... can't be helped now. And there's a better way to find out exactly how long Meltzer's arc is supposed to be: ask Scott Allie in the next Q&A. I've already started writing down questions as we go along, so that I won't be short of them when the time comes. I've a whopping two in the bank, but that's good enough for now.

Judging from the new cover, looks like Twilight is Xander, or Angel. Check out the side-face action. Haha.

I see a lot of Spike there...but also Xander and Angel... but he looks so young to be future Xander so I am hoping for Angel or spike...or maybe a young Ripper?

I've already started writing down questions as we go along, so that I won't be short of them when the time comes. I've a whopping two in the bank, but that's good enough for now. I always do that, which is why I always have a ton of questions every month. Scott probably thinks I'm some kind of no-life fanboy (whether that's accurate or not is beside the point )... but Buffy's story just fascinates me, even if the Big Bad is a pompous luchador.

Given how tight Dark Horse's scheduling is, I'm pretty sure he knows how long the "Twilight" arc will be. Especially if he's still trying to schedule those two one-shots in there somewhere, which have to at least be somewhat planned and perhaps ready to go, if Allie even bothered to spill about them. I was always under the impression that the only arc that's a little shifty on the numbers was Joss' final arc. I always do that, which is why I always have a ton of questions every month. Scott probably thinks I'm some kind of no-life fanboy (whether that's accurate or not is beside the point )... but Buffy's story just fascinates me, even if the Big Bad is a pompous luchador. S'okay. Just before our first Jeanty Q&A, Emmie and I got together (in the virtual platonic sense) and churned out 36 questions for a bank, just in case there was a shortage of questions. Granted, not all of them were quality ones... but we had a good number of great ones, many of which were asked by other members, I'm happy to say.
