What made it boring Kara? Try not to be spoiler-ific. I'm thinking of seeing it Wednesday, haven't decided. I just thought the storyline was uninteresting and predictable. Yeah the graphics were *amazing* but that was the only thing amazing about it, sadly. IMO.

Honestly had no interest in seeing this movie before. I mean James Cameron is amazing and everything cause I am still a Dark Angel(which FOX should have never cancelled) and Titanic fan. It just feel like that the reason everybody's blowing it up is cause his name attached to it. All I can remember from previews is Graphics and JAMES CAMERON. Now I think I want to see if it's worth the hype.

I thought it was great! the storyline is predictable but then again what isn't these days? and i think it is up to the type of person you are as to whether the story is uninteresting or interesting to you (for me personally it was fantastic)

the storyline is predictable but then again what isn't these days? A lot, actually. I think there has been a crazy amount of good, original films recently.

Even a cliche plot can be bearable if it's done well. That's what I'll be looking for when I go see it, because the trailer is kind of a dead giveaway for what the plot is about, and reviewers have been pining over the fact that it's basically Fern Gully - which I have no problem with because Fern Gully is a great film.

There's still plenty of originality when it comes to the world and Na'vi anyways. Some great characters and easily the best special effects yet. I loved it.

I really enjoyed Avatar but I wasnt blown away by it like a lot of people. EMPIRE gave it 5 stars which is highly ridiculous I think. Yes graphics were great and the battles were very intense but other than that it was all very formulaic and predictable, which didnt bother me massively but some sort of twist on the plot would have been a nice. Id say about 7/10. And like kara said, GO SEE SHERLOCK HOLMES. I loved that. ;D

Film of the year easily. I would reccomend everyone see this while they can, in 3D. It's a game changer, not a film. It's an event. The story doesn't offer anything particularly new, not shocking but it's never uninteresting either. It's wonderfully put together, and the characters are likable. A more complex plot might distract you from the utterly brilliant visual feast that you experience.

I wasn't blown away by the dialog or story line, though I appreciated the message. But the look of the fim is worth the price and the time. Seriously, they could have been speaking Chinese the whole time (without subtitles-I don't have anything against Chinese, I just don't understand it) and it still would have been great.

It was too beautiful. A real game-changer for film. I was enraptured the entire time. And yeah, plot is predictable, but I didn't even notice after 20 minutes, and the performances were so good it didn't even matter. <333333 ETA: I will point out that Star Wars also had a predictable plot and is still an international phenomenon today.

Oh come on guys, that film is amazing with the 3D aside. I loved the storyline, it was original. Also had no problems with the acting, thought it was really believable (the acting not the ble people, im not that crazy). I would see it again, even if this time it wasn't 3D. Honestly, it was the best movie I have seen in years. I almost cried, TWICE

I was not interested in this movie for any reason other than I love James Cameron. I saw it two days ago in 3D with my mother, and it was a wonderful movie. There are parts of the story that are predictable, but I have found an article that examines the story on a deeper level and reveals what really hit me: This story is about becoming who you are. Here's the link: Racial Politics of AvatarI really enjoyed it, and I think it is definitely worth it to see it in 3D because it allows the environment to come to life, which is a truly astounding sight. I say give it a try, even if you don't like it, you get those super cool 3D glasses to keep!

Okay I saw it. Yeah its a long movie, but I don't think its boring. Personally, that was one of the most visually stunning movies I have ever seen in my life. The world James Cameron created was absolutely beautiful. The creatures I loved the most were the dragon thingies. They were so cool!!! Yeah, I knew that the good guys would win in the end, but I did not expect all those people were going to die and the bad guys almost winning. I loved that scene when Neytiri was holding human Jake in her arms. It was like a female empowerment win! Also, there was A LOT of swearing for that to be a P-13 movie! I had a 12 year old kid sitting next to me, so I was a little uncomfortable with that.
