Im confused. What are we talking about. Who is the 'she' being referred to and why would she been thrown into the gallows The "she" refers to Trudy. Who pretty much deserted her mission. While they were blowing up the Home Tree, she decided to leave midway through. That's a direct violation of the mission plan, and I doubt the colonel would have been too happy with her. Especially since he rounded up all the tree huggers and threw their asses into a cell. There's no reason why she was spared the same fate, other than to make it convenient for her to assist the rest in their escape. I have always been under the impression that Trudy's sudden abscence from the mission went un-detected. Everyone seemed to be so caught up with the mission that she went out un-noticed. She turned back and her copter remained behind the others therefore they may not have seen her. Even if it was noticed there was no reason to lock her up like the rest of them. She is simply a pilot who was asked to do something that shouldn't even be her job to do. She found it too much and turned away, pretty understandable.

Are we sure they're military? Wasn't it mentioned in the beginning that they were men for hire? They might be ex-military. So they might have different procedures? She might be punished another way, like having to do latrin duty until the next ship could take her home or something?
It's fanwanking, because she should have been locked up as well, military or not.

This is definitely a very fabulous movie. The special effects are definitely amazing and the story is really great. It definitely has a great message and is actually historically relevant in the sense of native people, when you think about it. This movie really blew me away.
