Just saw it and thought it was amazing. I really love the fact that the 3D was preconceived and so natural feeling. No blatant 3D movie "gags" (except maybe the golf ball) . I was still waiting for some kids on a flying bison to show up and start 'bending...that will always be "Avatar" to me.

I agree that it was more of a 15+ rating than a 12+(which is what it is in the UK) Although the good guys did become victorious at the end of the movie, I disagree that they won as such. Their losses were just as big as the bad guys. Almost everything they treasured was destroyed in the battle, so I dont really think the good guys won as such. In my eyes the good and bad guys lost.

I guess one could say that the good guys lost less, because in the end, they faced a bigger obstacle than the bad guys, and still came out okay on the other side, and they made the bad guys feel like losers.
One thing that amazed me was how easily everyone at the base, and some of them most have been nice people, decided that because the natives had been defending their home, they deserved to be punished. And a part of me, a very human part, agreed. Because, let's face it, humanity is greedy and pretentious, we feel we have the right to shape the world to our liking, other species me damn. Of course, me being a outsider, not working at the base, I can easily see that it's not one of our admirable traits. But if I had been working on the base, every day trying to survive and earn some money, and some weird specie didn't want to move so we could get money, a part of me would have been angry that someone dared stand in my way. It's not pretty. It's human.

try not to be near any aisles or the little floor lights will reflect in your 3d glasses.

We didn't get to see in 3D. I was disapointed. Maybe smaller countries don't buy that version.

Wow, I saw this last night, and it totally lived up to the hype. Amazing amazing AMAZING graphics, and though the plot was a bit cliched, it was pretty easy to look past. I cried when Trudy got asploded, she was so awesome

I cried when Trudy got asploded, she was so awesome I was pissed, because not only did James Cameron recycle his awesome Hispanic woman-who-kicks-the-boys'-asses-at-EVERYTHING character (Vasquez from Aliens, he recycled her fate as well. And to top it, Michelle Rodriguez pretty much recycled her performance from the first Resident Evil movie. Too much recycling for one character... However, the best part of the heroic death cliche got left out... the part where the heroic death takes out a significant chunk of the opposition's forces.

The only thing that bugged me about her character was that she was apparently the ONLY soldier there who objected to what they were doing. Everyone else was more than happy to go ahead and slaughter everything.

And explain how the hell she wasn't thrown into the gallows as well, for deserting. That's got court marshall written all over it. But it did bug me how everyone else was a grunt who was more than happy to throw down a few bombs.

It would be a helluva cover up, if it were. But regardless, even if she wasn't court marshalled, her ass would have been thrown into the gallows, along with the other tree huggers. Not allowed to roam free.

Im confused. What are we talking about. Who is the 'she' being referred to and why would she been thrown into the gallows The "she" refers to Trudy. Who pretty much deserted her mission. While they were blowing up the Home Tree, she decided to leave midway through. That's a direct violation of the mission plan, and I doubt the colonel would have been too happy with her. Especially since he rounded up all the tree huggers and threw their asses into a cell. There's no reason why she was spared the same fate, other than to make it convenient for her to assist the rest in their escape.

She flew out of the fight with no explanation at all. If he had asked, she had no reason other than ethics. Whether or not she was a known ally or not at that point doesn't matter. She would've been suspended, thrown into a cell until they could take proper action. And the colonel has a funny way of dealing with favorites that disappoint him. He tries to kill them...
