Interesting solicitation It seems to confirm that we will be heading back to Sunny D, in either an "Alt Dimension" or more likely time travel since this has been a theme of the episode

Hmmm... sounds like some Hellmouthy goodness is to be had. Figures... we started with "The Long Way Home".
ETA: It seems that the Dark Horse site has also been updated with the solicitations for this. Odd, since usually external sites break the news first.

The sigh made me laugh. But the Spuffy fan in me is dancing with happiness. :2party: #36 is gonna be either so good or so bad. I'm really hoping for a good explanation. Sunnydale!!! The Long Way Home, I love how the title of the first arc is also about the whole season.

The *sigh* actually made me think Spuffies should not be dancing with happiness just yet. But, yeah, I guess the shipper torture session will continue.

I wonder what the "where love was indiscriminate" line means?
Maybe Buffy doomed the world by sleeping with Parker. Wouldn't surprise me.

Or heck, ya know, the place where a Slayer fell in love with a vampire with a soul, and possibly another one after that. Where a meek studious girl fell in love with a rocker/werewolf. Where a "loser" dated the school queen, and later fell in love with an ex-vengeance demon. Where two powerful witches fell in love. List goes on... Ooh... where Joyce and Ripper had a go on the police car. TWICE! Oh wait, that was not love... skanky adult lust, it is then.

The solicitation does tend to reinforce the suspicion that they have to go back in time to stop Buffy and Angel from falling in love, and therefore prevent Twilight from starting... but it also says that Angel is not the real problem.
That's one thing I can say for season 8... for better or worse, I am consistently baffled as to where it's going next.

The solicitation has perked my interest. So they really are going back to Sunnydale? That would be kinda cool. Explains the issue's alternate cover. I wonder how this is going to end, I'm just itching to find out And hey, Spike and Buffy reunion. Colour me happy

What color would that be? A vibrant vermillion, perchance? ETA: The images from CBR finally started working, so hi-res covers have now been added to the original post. They look very nice and shiny, so check 'em out.

Spike and Buffy are finally reunited!!!! Yep, no “sigh” – YAY! Well, it still early to dance my happy dance, but YAY for Spike and Buffy!!! And honesty I don’t want to see Spike/Buffy sex reunion – I’m still sick of the Twangel/Buffy flying-sex-fiesta! But I would appreciate some tender and touchable moments between Spike and Buffy and several kisses! I think Spike and Buffy deserve to be together, they are so alike – both of them are champions, both of them sacrificed themselves saving the world. And looking at the brilliant Jo Chen’s covers of issue 36 and 37, I’ve noticed the facial expressions of Spike and Buffy are almost the same with all that sadness and tears in their eyes… so touchable and heartbreaking… yeah I’m eager to see what’s coming next! And I'm happy that Angel is not the real problem and the real villain. That’s my sigh of relieve-I was so confused about. ::)Despite of I’m not a fan of B/A relationship I love Angel, he’s one of my favorite characters and my second favorite vampire. I believe Angel is only a pawn to the real Big Bad and he’ll be redeemed successfully (probably with Spike’s help! )and Angel will leave for LA! And I hope to see Season 9 with Buffy, Spike, Willow, Faith and the other Scoobies reunited and fighting against evil!

I'm happy for confirmation that Angel is not the main source of the problem... but I never really thought he was. I will be looking for more info on how much control he had over his thoughts and actions as Twilight, and how he reacts to the things he's done once his head is clear.

I have strangest feeling that 'Angel's not being the problem' might turn into something even worse - like the whole Scoobies gang and their indiscriminate love for each other being the 'real problem' that allowed this particular Slayer to survive that long and eventually evolve to the point of causing Twilight. The cover of 37 hints on them all except Buffy turning dead in that 'reset'.

Well, the First Slayer did seem awfully insistent in "Restless" when she told Buffy she must not have friends and relationships.
Maybe the successful casting of that melding/uber-Slayer spell in "Restless" set off alarm bells at the source of the Slayer magic that Buffy's friendships were making her too strong.
I also wonder at the real motives of the Guardians who gave Buffy the Scythe, thereby handing her the tool she needed to carry out the triggering event of Twilight.
I don't think Spike's solution is to go back in time and destroy all of Buffy's friendships (or kill all her friends), since I can't imagine him being so casual about such a thing.
But, of course, Buffy never does as she's supposed to do. I imagine this time won't be any different.
In 48 days we will begin to get the answer.

This is the classic ending where, in order to end things off, we got to go back to the begining.

I am hoping that we go back to mid season 2 timeline with everybody (Buffy-Xander-Will-Angel-Spike and even un-chosen Faith and Cordy) slowly remembering their old lives shown via flashbacks, all coming together to go back …. (LOST final)

With the alternative cover of this issue, it could possible they may go all the way back to season 1. Maybe even interrupt Buffy and Angel's first meeting. Well, that is if time travel is indeed the answer to this. And if that really is the case then damn, what is with time travel these days to fix things? After the Fall, possibly this season and also MK

Ok i really dont think its fair how Spike stole the spotlight from all the supporting cast in both Buffy and Angel during their final seasons! I dont like that he has come back because I think Buffy and Angel make good friends and they have a lot to explore with their complciated friendship.
Just a little sidenote, kind of random: but does this arc have any conenction the the after the fall series with Angel, or are they just tossing in Angel and Spike for the hell of it?
