Dawn is one of my absolute favourite characters and I don't have many absolutes. I liked her from her first appearance, and I never understood the dislike towards her character. I've never saw anything she's done as annoying. If I was Buffy I'd probably think differently. But I'm not, so whatever.
Episodes Real Me Blood Ties Spiral The Gift Lessons Conversations With Dead People
Moments The breakfast scene in Real Me, and all of her voiceovers. They're so great and very lol worthy.
The end scene of Forever with her and Buffy. Oh, tear jerkers.
When she's willing to jump into the portal at the end of The Gift. There's so many good traits to Dawn and some fans just look over them and see her as the whiney little sister.
All of her scenes in CWDP.
The end of Grave when she fights along side with Buffy.
Her scene with Xander at the end of Potential. One of the moments I don't think Xander's a huge jerk.
Now I'm tired and I wanna sleep so I'll return in the morning.

The end of Grave is definitely one of my favourite moments with Dawn. BTW i love the banner, it says everything that needs to be said about the awesomeness of Dawn

I have never understood all the Dawn hate either. Sure she whined at times, but in her defense she had been through a lot and certainly had a lot to whine over (fans should really cut her some slack, in my opinion). To her credit, however, she got over all that for the most part and turned out pretty well. One of my favorite episodes featuring Dawn is Potential. I like this episode because it shows that Dawn is capable of showing selflessness, and thinking of others. We see that she is able to think beyond the moment and see the big picture; not only in the way it affects her, but others as well. I think this episode, especially the ending, shows a lot of character growth for Dawn. Grave is another favorite, pretty much for all the same reasons listed above. Up until this point, Dawn has been thought of as I naive, unassuming little girl in need of protecting. We get to this episode and discover just how wrong we were. Like Buffy, we finally see that Dawn is capable of so much more. I love pretty much all of Dawn's scenes with Spike, and Xander as well. I feel that she matured a lot in season 7, and I am loving her, for the most part, in season 8. Will add more of my fave Dawn moments later.

I'll come back to appreciate Ms. Dawn Summers. I'm actually surprised that she's in a few people top five. Go Dawnie!

To her credit, however, she got over all that for the most part and turned out pretty well. Exactly. Buffy has her fair share of tantrums and whining moments. Why don't people hold Buffy's tantrums against her? Oh right, cos she's got a lot to deal with. Which I'm not disagreeing with, Buffy has her own problems aswell, but a lot of fans don't think that way with Dawn. Do people forget she's only 14 at the beginning? If a 14 year old Buffy went through what Dawn did, I don't think Buffy would have acted tough or just "gotten over it" at all. I was looking for some Dawn fanvids on YouTube to post, but *shock* there aren't a lot to choose from. Two great videos about Buffy and Dawns relationship: www.youtube.com/watch?v=zk3zwNo_yC8www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1ENV6AlNNQAnd thanks, spuffy147!

I love Dawn, I think she's amazing favourite episodes - Conversations with dead people Grave Lessons Tough Love The body Potential Favourite qoute's - "I love you guys!" -'seeing red' "Anchovies, anchovies, you're so delicious. I love you more than all the other fishes!" -Conversations with dead people - easily my favourite line EVER! What I love most about Dawn is that she kind of brings the actual world into the show. It isnt just about slaying demons and killing the dead-un-dead. It's about looking after people you care about and having the best intetions in life, that just because you dont have any special abilitie's you can make a difference in any way possible which she actual showed to the other scoobies in 'Potential'.

I also don't get the Dawn hate (or for that matter the Riley hate or the Kennedy hate - I do get the Rona hate)
As Xander said. "Her abandonment issues, have abandonment issues" I think a lot of people could have broken down into nothingness by now but she's powered on.

Dawn's squee burst when she sees Tara and Willow together again Yes, this is one of my favorite Dawn moments as well. Her genuine happiness at seeing Willow and Tara back together is adorable to watch. I also don't get the Dawn hate (or for that matter the Riley hate or the Kennedy hate - I do get the Rona hate) As Xander said. "Her abandonment issues, have abandonment issues" I think a lot of people could have broken down into nothingness by now but she's powered on. I was with ya up until the part about not understanding the Kennedy hate. lol. But I definitely agree that Dawn has soldiered on when others may have just laid down and died. I think she definitely deserves more credit than she is given for sure. She is a lot stronger than people think.

Like the scene in TabulaRasa where Dawn looks at her necklace and says, "Umad" ... that always cracks me up. The names of some of the other episodes escape me at the moment, but my favorite Dawn moments include her talk with Xander when she discovers she's not a potential, and accepting her role to see to the other girls so they can understand their fate. Love the scene when she and Buffy fight the baddie, and Dawn kicks some ass all on her own, and she turns to Buffy and says, "What you don't think I ever watched you?"-- I love that moment. I think it helped cement their partners not just sisters. Dawn can take care of herself, and Buffy doesn't need to treat her like a little girl anymore. Also, any scene involving Michelle Trachtenberg and SMG in tears always gets me crying.
Even though Dawn isn't one of my favorite characters. I like that she's a strong girl. She's a lot like Buffy in a way. Headstrong and stubborn.

I really actually liked Dawn. In the beginning I couldn't stand her because she was so whiny, but then during season 5 she began to grow up. I don't think I could actually pick a favorite episode but I loved all of her moments with Spike. He was like a father/brother figure for her and was there for her when Buffy wasn't

Yeah, when Dawn first came on the scene I was in the lets all hate Dawn club, but I was like that with a few characters, even Anya (I reacted to her like Willow did). But I did grow to love Dawn as a character, she is strong, and yes stubborn, but brave, sweet and well a 'bitty Buffy' but of course in her own way. (I did grow to love Anya quite a bit too, don't want nobody throwing tomatos at me).

Quotes: One that was in the original script of Doublemeat Palace, when the gang is waiting to see if the meat is human.
"So much suspense. It's like taking a pregnancy test... when they do that in pregnancy test commercials."
Otherwise I like her quirky lines, like when she sings about the fish in CWDP.
Episodes or scenes/moments: Her staking Justin in All The Way (really shows how strong she is), the swordfighting with Buffy, Potential (the entire ep), her thumbwrestling with Tara, several of Buffy/Dawn scenes, her threatening Spike in Beneath You, her telling Glory off over and over.
What do you like most about Dawn?: I don't know. We don't get to know her as well as some other characters, but she just seems cool. And since I've seen her in her most bratty moments, that must mean she really got something, since I still think she's pretty fly.

It's like taking a pregnancy test... when they do that in pregnancy test commercials." ;D That's hilarious, I wish they had kept that in. There is an extention of her freaking out in Touched when she finds out that the Turkish spellbook has a translation that would have been nice to keep in the show too. This one definitely goes to the top of my list of what I would have liked to see though.

I think it was pretty small, I read many years ago. It was like something like: |There's a translation of it!? So here I am reading like two words a night and- You know what, I'm over it"
Just a little thing but I thought it would give the joke more punch and it would be fun to see Dawn get a little frustrated in a non-whiney way.

I would have liked that to be added, because all of a sudden I thought she was a language-genius.

I always liked that moment in Touched, and I'd have liked to have seen that other version instead. Why was that even cut? I doubt 14 words could have affected the total run time very much.
I wasn't expecting there to be 7 people with her in their top five. That's pretty cool.

I don't understand how it seems like every month more than half the people say the character is in their top ten.
