Probaly WAY to earlier to speculate but i wonder if when this arc is collected into a hardcover if it will be numbered One or Two? - After the news that the Willinghams collected arc has been numbered One on the hardcover... for some strange reason?

Well Number One's seems to sell better so I guess Willingham arc's restarted the numbering since he was originally going to have full reigns on the Angel series. So it's gonna be like this: Volume #1 Immortality for Dummies Volume #2 Connorland Volume #3 The Wolf, the Ram, and the Hart.
However, I'd honestly rather have them be Volume #7, 8, and 9 respectively.

I'm not a fan of the new numbering. Maybe if IDW would have the license for another few years, but since we're only getting 2 more HC's, 7-9 would've been waaaaay better.

Well can't they release the last two HC's as Vol 8 and 9 and then re-release Immortality for Dummies as Vol 7 with a full cover gallery? Errors and re-releases are known to happen. I say we push for that.

Well I presume the whole numbering thing happened before the licence was lost - and was prob the last thing on their minds to change it. It would have been nice if it had just remained #7, but I suppose they have more to worry about.

I'm more surprised theyve kept the same numbering since the very beggining of the actual issues.

CBR interview with Mariah Huehner and David Tischman HERE. Lots of spoilers peppering this interview, and it includes hi-res cover images that we've previously seen, as well as one preview page.

I don't want the Angel series to end st IDW-but having said that I really cannot wait to read this sec.Sounds like it is going to be excellent.
Get the focus back on Angel, get W&H back and doing there usual machinations, and a big epic operatic storyline.
Bring it on:-)

I was skeptical too, but it totally works. Coming out of my fandomy retreat to send something derrishis your way. buffyversecomics.blogspot.com/2010/11/interview-with-mariah-huehner-and.htmlMaaaaaaaaan, the comic was good. Felt like a new beginning, but the tone was consistent and the characters were super in character. A breath of fresh air. Can't wait to see how Mariah and David end what has been my favorite comic series of all time. Viva la IDW's Angel! Check out my interview with Mariah at NYCC and also my review of #39. Link above. If that alone doesn't convince you to click, the second interview video (a few scrolls down) features Mariah and my girlfriend geeking out about how cool squids are.

Definetly gotta weigh in with Pat and say how much I liked it. IT was very quick but alot happened. I really only had two issues with it and it's not really mariah or Davids fault more where they stepped into the story and how there were several unavoidle continutiy errors:
-We haven't seen james in several issues but where he is shown is in the exact same time and place he was last time he was seen even tho time has clearly elapsed with the fate (at the moment) of Anne and her teens left ambiguous.
-This isnt the first issue we've seen this but the first its been explored. Gunn keeps being portrayed as more angry at Connor even tho Gunn killed Connor, clearly there is something there that is a bit off.
But like pat said, it was a great start, greatset up to the story, and hopefully a great end to this Chapter of angel.
Ps: so Eddie escaped and is ready to return to his life wherever and whatever that may be but I feel like there is more story for him should anyone choose to pick him back up in the future.
I remember someone responding to a post of mine saying he could carry a story without Angel and at first I couldnt see it but now Idk...i think its doable. I mean as long as the verse is still around theres a place for another misunderstood antihero.

Thing about Gunn, he has a right to be angry at Connor. Connor randomly told Gunn that he kept wanting to slit his throat. Gunn did kill Connor when he was a vampire, but Connor was needlessly cruel when they argued.

This is true and not to be all grade school and playgroundish about it but when you get right down to it tho it comes down to whose offense was bigger and warranting of anger. Connor getting killed? or Gunn getting threatened with Death? I mean in the grand scheme its not a big deal since they're setting aside their differences, but as long as they work together there will be that undertone.

If Gunn had killed Connor as a human, I'd agree. As much as the guilt is there in Gunn, he was a vampire who was completely out of control of his own actions. So to be honest, Connor's offense is up there. It's hard to weigh it, because I can sympathize with both of them. They're both traumatized from the events of AtF in very different ways. Despite that one outburst, though, Connor seems much less upset about the happenings of that arc than Gunn does.

Pat, I think you're giving vampire!Gunn a pass he doesn't deserve. Angel with a soul still feels responsible for all the evil he did before. So does Spike. The difference to me isn't the vampire/human deal but that Gunn had lost his soul. And if Angel and Spike have to own the evil they did, so does Gunn.
So Gunn needs to eat his lumps. He murdered Connor. Connor died because of him and he remembers it. Gunn should expect Connor wanting to kill him--it's to Connor's credit that he's only verbalizing it.
And doesn't that seem... wrong? That Connor isn't all that upset about dying and that Gunn is mostly angry at Connor about verbally threatening him? Maybe there'll be follow-up.

Haven't been keeping up with this series at all, but all this talk about Connor's "AtF" death brings up an interesting little matter... is Connor's regenerative ability something that's explained yet? Coz it seems to be a fairly recent development.

I noticed that Connor was much more willing and quick to sweep this under the rug rather than dwell.

I'm glad Eddie got closure, but it's a shame that all of his potential got canned. I mean, I thought he was super interesting and cool. He would have eventually been on board Team Angel!? I woulda been glad. Meh. I hope the Dark Horse move is worth this. xD Looking to be a good, finale arc.
